The Fourth Kind

Cant wait for this, im an abduction/alien nerd.

is anyone else seeing it tomorrow?
im debating if i want to see this

i want to check it out too but RT has it for 18%, i was like damn it's probably not good then if it's that low

saw it,
the trailers ruined pretty much EVERYTHING.

i still found the story very interesting however and slightly creepy.

one problem i had was how milla played abigale... in all the tapes the actual lady was very mellow and zombie-like(even pre-abduction), but milla played her as a normal person/psychologist, which made it confusing and misleading when both abigale and milla were put side by side lol

^ cool i also found a nice review

If you don’t buy into that concept at least a little bit, then The Fourth Kind will leave you as cold as Paranormal Activity did for people who didn’t go along for the ride with that film. However if you let it get in your head, I think you’ll find that The Fourth Kind is even more effective at freaking you out and causing you some nervousness after you turn off the last light at night and head off to bed.

I want to see this, "The Box", and "A Christmas Carol (in IMAX 3D)". It's going to be an expensive weekend. :o

I'm gigged to see this .........big weekend actually with "Men Who Stare at Goats" and "Ninja Assassin" as well.........gonna pull a triple-header on Saturday.

I think it should have no problem being better than that absolute turd "Paranormal Activity" ........... I've been scared more by things I have left in the toilet. :hehe:

yea i cant wait to see Ninja Assassin and then AVATAR :awesome:

Saw it today, way better then i thought it would be. Really creepy in some scenes. Good ****

There hasn't been a good alien abduction movie in several years.

I think this film is really *****ing brilliant. It's one of the best alien films I've seen in a theatre in a while (not exaggerating, besides "District 9") and I am a HUGE alien fan and am very picky with alien films and this one is definately my new favourite.

I believe it raises the bar. Not only is it great, but it's got really intense and creepy moments. I was so drawn into the film I did not want it to end. It's very rare when a film ends and I'm still thinking about it because it left me feeling scared, and this one did just that! As much as I love aliens.. this movie makes me terrified of them. Oh man, I can't wait to watch this again!

It was eh. Me having a gigantic fear of Aliens, I was assuming I wouldnt sleep for weeks. This is not the case. Could've...no, should've been better. Show the Alien if you want to scare the **** out of people. Dont tease them. Also, the distortions were good if you could "see" them. The window scene was ******ed. SHOW IT PLEASE!

I liked it. I'd probably give it a 7.5 out of 10. I thought they did a remarkable job using the fuzzy, distorted video camera footage to creep people out. It made you watch it intently trying to see thru the distortion while hearing the screams and the Sumerian voices.

I think a good scary movie is one that doesn't flood you with the actual monster or alien. This made sure not to, but I think it could've shown just a tad little more of the actual aliens. For In my eyes that would be the big pay off for the patient viewer. It's also kind of hard to buy into Milla Jovavich as a country bumpkin lol. The woman who played the "real" Dr. Tyler was very freaky looking, almost alien.

Uni Gets Sued Over 'The Fourth Kind'

An article over at Newsvine reports that Universal Pictures has agreed to pay $20,000 to the Alaska Press Club to settle complaints about fake news archives used to promote the movie The Fourth Kind, the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported. You can click the link for more on that story OR click here for something far more interesting. The Fourth Kind mixed in celebrity reenactments with "supposed" real footage from a town's documented series of abductions.

Seems like people will sue over anything. Even things that aren't real.

Well it seems I am the only one here who did not like this movie. I was bored out of my mind and was yawning and looking at my watch the whole time when I saw this last weekend. I literaly walked out of the movie because I just couldnt watch the whole thing. Lots of other people walked out as well. Sure there where some creepy momments from what I saw again I did not stay until the end. It was intense when the guy killed his family and then himself and the other guy who got lifted up out of the bed and stuff but still it was an awful movie in my opinion.

I just saw the movie. It was koo. When I was younger a movie like this dealing with Ghost and Alien Abductions would've scared me to the point where I would go to bed with the lights on. But now these movies don't bother me at all. I guess I grew out of it.

Saw the film last night, and it really has me wondering whether the actual events ever took place. The film uses aliases for everyone, and there are no records of Dr. Abigail Tyler.

I wish there were some definite answers, but alas, it was a good movie and kept me interested along for the ride.

One interesting fact is that there are no trees in the real Nome, Alaska. (Pictures at link below)

http://community.adn.com/adn/node/143292 - Article talking about the credibility of the footage in the film and whether or not the events took place... the article concludes it did not.

There are definite answers regarding this movie's connection with reality.

There is no connection with reality. It is based on the fact that some people died outside in Nome. There was never any doctor for them to speak with, there were never any stories of giant owls, and there was never any suspicions from anyone regarding aliens. The real story is that some people got drunk and passed out and died outside, and other such things...all of which unrelated.

I saw this movie today. It's alright and the editing of the footage sure makes one believe it could be authentic.
