I wanted to start a thread only for those who like or love Franz Ferdinand (no haters).

I seriously cannot wait for the new CD, "Tonight: Franz Ferdinand."
Everything I have heard so far ("Lucid Dreams," "Twilight Omens," "Ulysses," "What She Came For") has been great.

The CD is getting leaked evrywhere, but the record company actually seems to be doing a fairly good job at tracking down the leaks. On blogs that have made the music available for download, the company has sent the following letter:
On behalf of Domino Records and Franz Ferdinand, we would kindly ask you not to post copies of "Tonight" on your site (or any non-preview tracks from the artist’s new album – street date 26th January).
We do appreciate that you are fans of / are promoting Franz Ferdinand, but the label and artist would greatly appreciate your co-operation in removing your links to the pirate files in question.
Thank you for respecting the artist's and label’s wishes … .. and, if you / your readers want good quality, non-pirated, official preview tracks, "Ulysses" is available for fans and bloggers to link to / post / host etc … .. check-out the artist’s MySpace and YouTube for audio and video streams at http://www.myspace.com/franzferdinand and http://www.youtube.com/user/franzferdinand ... .. and, for info on “Tonight” and the band’s 2009 shows, check-out http://www.franzferdinand.co.uk.
As you will appreciate, this e-mail is written on a without prejudice basis and, as such, all of our clients' accumulated, worldwide rights and remedies remain strictly reserved : please excuse this required formality.
With Thanks & Regards,
WEB SHERIFF

I have seen that warning on several music blogs I read.
However, NME magazine is offering a legal download of the live version of "What She Came For" at http://www.nme.com/franzferdinand.

» Franz Ferdinand, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand: The Scottish band's third album reportedly has some African influences. Singer Alex Kapranos has described it as "music of the night to fling yourself around your room to as you psych yourself for a night of hedonism, for the dance floor." Be prepared.

I haven't seen it yet.
By the way, it's pretty aggravating that they are not selling the two-disc version of Tonight in North America.

I just got my tickets for a concert in May. I am pretty excited.

No stops in FL? Damn them. These guys are pretty good, and different. I'm not a huge fan, but they've always caught my ear with a few of their songs. I just downloaded "No You Girls" & "Twilight Omens" the other night. Really catchy.

If you like those, you should check out the rest of the disc. I think you will really like it.

Franz Ferdinand are just a bad Q and not U ripoff :down

Ahmed Gallab from Sinkane is secretly taking over indie rock drumming. First he rescued the Caribou tour. Then he joined up with Of Montreal for a few months. Next up is an extended run drumming for Born Ruffians, which includes opening the Franz Ferdinand tour.

Ahmed is not just an awesome-drummer-for-hire. He’s readying a new Sinkane release, scheduled for May 2009. Dudes, I have heard it and it is amazing. It takes all the original ideas and concepts from the last Sinkane record and expands upon them at an incredible level. You’re gonna love it.

Franz Ferdinand will be releasing Blood — a dub version of their recently released third album Tonight: Franz Ferdinand — June 1 on Domino Records.

The album was mixed by Dan Carey, who mixed Tonight as well. Originally Blood was featured as part of the box set and double disc versions of Tonight, but the new version will include an extra song, “Be Afraid”, and a new version of “Dream Again”. Blood is being released in conjunction with this past weekend’s Record Store Day, and the group is planning to release 500 limited edition vinyl versions of the record exclusively to select independent record stores.
