At the very least it's an interesting cultural phenomenon. It's showing that despite cultural barriers that certain parts of society erect for itself, that due to the relative anonomity of the internet that people of all walks of life can say that they enjoy a show that was made to sell merchendise to small girls and that they are fans of it. Being that the show has a good message for the children many parents can get away with watching it under the educational excuse if they have thier kids with them. It's even been placed in the Globe and Mail about this happening and personally I think it's a good direction in our society to grow. Not the ponies bit but acceptance of new things and refusal to continue the cultural norms which (in my opinion) are severely out-dated.

Yes, I too, am a brony I wasn't until very recently but it grows on you. It reminds me of Invader Zim in several ways. Especially just the random crap and general insanity that happens evey single episode and every few episodes someone goes completely insane.

It can't be all bad in any case wether you agree or not because John de Lancie (Q from Star Trek TNG, DS9 and Voyager) plays a god of chaos for two episodes.
