Wow, why didn't I see that episode when I used to take s**t from people in school for being well spoken and calling me a white black guy? I would have went Carlton all over their ass! Then danced away.

Yeah, I'm white but it used to bug the crap out of me back in like middle school and high school when black guys would say other black guys weren't really black or something like that because of the way they dressed or the kind of music they listened to.

I had a really good friend who mostly listened to like alternative rock music and dressed kinda "weird" in their eyes, so I remember him flipping his **** one day in like 7th grade because he heard someone say "He ain't black." I thought he was about to murder somebody.

Your friend sounded like a few people I knew growing up too. Playing guitar or listening to metal and their blacknicity is questioned. Ha

Yeah, questioning my music preference bugs me as well and I guess I'm supposed to stick to certain genres and not wander off but I happen to love just about everything. The only time I ever flipped my s**t was in class one day when some black girl told me during a conversation about preferred types I wasn't really a part of but swung my direction and she just blurted out before I even spoke "Oh, he probably only likes white girls" I really had to hold it in and only said something like 'What the hell is that supposed to mean?'. I couldn't look at her anymore after that because of how mad she made me and obviously I still remember it. A lady from an old job said something similar too a few years ago like 'Oh I bet you like those mixed breeds, huh?' Not as bad but I really question where people get those thoughts from, it's clearly from how I am.
