That movie looks absurd and delightful.
It really was. Fassbender was the best part.
That movie looks absurd and delightful.
Surprisingly, despite all the websites and apps dedicated to absolutely nothing but GIFs, there really aren't that many that let you turn yourself into your own ever-looping bit of internet infamy. But today, JibJab's new custom GIF messaging app is filing a void in our hearts we didn't even know existed in the first place.
Thanks to the same "Starring You" function you've probably seen in the company's holiday-themed e-cards, JibJab Messages lets you do things like this:
![]()
And this:
![]()
And even this:
![]()
Obviously, the results can tend towards less-than-perfect, but that's just part of the magic.
In addition to a fairly extensive collection of potential GIFs, one of the app's best qualities is the fact that it's just so damn easy. Either load up a photo from your phone or snap one right then, line it up, and you have dozens upon dozens of potential scenes with your or your friends' faces already jammed right in. It even lets you save and tag faces, so that should you decide to upload to Facebook, the app already knows which of your friends to tag.
And if it sounds too good to be true so farit kind of is. While your first 10 custom GIFs are free, after that, you're going to need to pay $1 a piece or $18 for a whole year of unlimited custom GIF-ing (or just stick to the stock options for free). Which is a little steep, surebut considering how wholly addictive the app is, it could be a lot worse.
You can download JibJab Messages today for iPhone onlyno word yet on when it might hit Android. And don't say we didn't warn you.
