There are no guidelines for this thread, only that what you post are GIFS and that they follow the rules of the HYPE.

There are NEVER points to ANY of the GIFS posted in here, girls in bikinis are just as acceptable as My Little Pony GIFS lol

And people comment on alot of the GIFs posted here, it just seems like the comments about female GIFs stick out to you.

I cant stand MMA or Wrestling and am bored by the posting of the GIFs and the convo's that follow them but since I do not enjoy them I just ignore them. I dont try to make it a point to complain about it

Doom, it's not about rules, it's about what is socially appropriate, and those gifs are the equivalent of leering construction workers wolf whistling.

And also, there HAVE been occasions where gifs of that nature have been pulled down, do I guess sometimes it does go too far, huh?

And yes, there are plenty of pints to gifs... Sharing fandom of a show or movie, showing something that looks cool, funny gifs but the boob gifs are totally for sexual pleasure. It's creepy and out of sync with community vibe of the rest of this thread. Im a straight guy and I still find it gratuitous, how would any women or gay posters feel? Especially since, when I started posting shirtless dude gifs one time to make a point, they got flagged IMMEDIATELY and a lot of people complained. What kind of freaking double standards is that?

This is a community made mostly of dudes who like girls. It's not unreasonable to expect them to enjoy sharing pictures of hot chicks. As long as it's not actual nudity or doesn't break the rules, then it's fair game.

Same as the funny pictures thread or any of the other ones. Used to be they'd put them in the first post.

The funny picture threads have become one of the true staples of this forum. There have been many incarnations of these threads that have come and gone throughout the history of the Hype. Unfortunately, with that long-standing existence has also come some problems. As a result of those problems, the staff got together and came up with a very specific list of rules for these threads.

These rules are not negotiable. They are not debatable.

Predictably, some here decided to "fight the power" and hijack these threads by turning them into a way to bash the staff, mock the thread rules, and prove how "cool" they think they are on a public message board. Some felt that they should be able to mock abortion, mock the holocaust, mock religion, and mock pedophilia among other things. This needless "rebellion" caused the previous funny picture thread to be closed and put on hiatus.

The funny picture thread is officially back from that hiatus and it comes with a very clear warning - the jackassery and needless hijacking of these threads to "fight the power" will not be tolerated. Instead of closing the thread again, those who cannot manage to "stick to the funny" as they say...will be banned from the thread. The decision to ban the troublemakers has nothing to do with "the staff not wanting to do their jobs" and everything to do with "no longer allowing the same troublemakers to ruin a thread that is loved by so many" here on the Hype.

With that said, please take a minute to review the rules for this thread.
