Miles Teller To Star In’The Gorge’ For ‘Black Phone’s Scott Derrickson – Deadline

After a very eventful summer that included the blockbuster phenomenon Top Gun: Maverick, Miles Teller looks to have found his next event pic and is reuniting with a familiar friend for it. Sources tell Deadline, Teller is in final negotiations to star in Skydance’s upcoming film, The Gorge, with Scott Derrickson directing the pic, which is based on spec script by The Tomorrow War scribe Zach Dean. Skydance produced Top Gun: Maverick, which starred Tom Cruise and Teller and which just passed the $1.4 billion global box-office milestone.

Logline is being kept under wraps, but is described as a high-action, genre-bending love story.

She’s really getting around.

So I’m gonna have to get another streaming service just to see this? :csad:

I thought theaters were back, Kidman! :argh:

Did they buy her wig from the same place that Annabelle Wallis got hers for Malignant? :o

It’s out now and I’ve seen it.

It’s like modern
Resident Evil
with a love story. It’s okay.

I’m about halfway through this and the best parts are the romantic scenes with Taylor-Joy and Teller. They have great chemistry, even during a big chunk of the movie where they can’t even speak to each other.

The monsters remind me of those soldiers in The Mummy lol.

Okay, just finished it. Have to say it was a blast. The special effects aren’t great in some spots but all in all it was a fun little sci-fi horror/action movie with a great love story and excellent leads.

I can't believe this has been in development since 2022 and I completely forgot about it. I guess it just left my mind at the time but man kudos to them putting so much work and effort into this and it turning out this well for the most part.

The movie isn't perfect but it's definitely my favorite film of the year so far and if anything this shows me that a proper live action Resident Evil adaptation can be done given the right amount of talent involved

Scott Derrickson really surprised me with this one and Id love to see him do more films like this.

Hahaha I don’t know; we’ve had SO many bad Resident Evil adaptations that I don’t think we’ll ever see a good one. Movies like this certainly prove that it’s POSSIBLE, but somehow someone always manages to **** it up when it comes to RE.

I'm shocked that I liked this. On paper it sounds so....not me, but it was cute and it kept me guessing.

This movie would probably work better as a video game.

It’s kinda funny; when they go into the Gorge, it felt like they were in a Dark Souls game. Still, I thought it was cool. Fun stuff if you don’t take it too seriously. I do feel kinda bad for Anya though if this was the reason she couldn’t appear in Nosferatu, because that film was on another level.

Just saw it. I liked it, better than a lot of the Resident Evil movies were, which this is in the same vein of. As far as video game adaptation? I think this would fit perfectly into that format but it's unlikely we'll see one any time soon.

I just watched this last night. It was fun. It’s not amazing, but the characters were all really likable and it was a better than average creature/action film.

I enjoyed the romance parts the most, which is hilarious.
