Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The Howling Commandos Thread

I hope we at least get Dugan (mostly just because McDonough is awesome) and Union Jack.

At the end of last night's how it showed previews of stuff from the upcoming episodes...I saw McDonough as Dugan in two different shots.

I really want J.J. Feild to show back up as Union Jack.

If I'm remembering correctly, doesn't Peggy end up with Gabe Jones at some point in the comics?

Also, in CA:TWS the archived footage of Peggy has her talking that she came to know her husband through Cap... but they never expanded on that to include any names from my recollection.

Maybe they left it open for a reason or just to show that Peggy actually had a normal life post Captain America. Maybe Peggy's backstory will be developed a little more with her appearance in Ant-Man or Civil War. What if Peggy ended up with Vernon Van Dyne & had a baby which would make her the mother of Janet Van Dyne? Maybe the baby could have really been Howard Stark's & Vernon Van Dyne was her adoptive father & raised her while Peggy went on dangerous missions.

So did the Agents of Shield episode that showed flashbacks of The Howling Commando's & Peggy Carter where they discovered the Kree alien happen pre-or-post Agent Carter? Maybe that could be covered in another season if there is one.

Before the events of Agent Carter. The attack on that HYDRA facility happened in 1945, and Agent Carter is set in 1946.

So the Howling Comandos are in the next episode. I can't wait!

Having survived missions against the Red Skull yet buying it getting a cheap shot from a 14 year old girl is so unsettling. Cool as hell but unnerving...

Too bad they didn't explain what happened to Jones, Morita, Falsworth and Dernier.

if Jones is Tripp's grandfather then he may of left military service to start a family.

Hopefully Falsworth became Union Jack and is on a secret mission somewhere.

I couldn't agree more and hope we get to see him at some point.

I hope somehow we get a Howling Commandos series. There's a bunch of stuff even before Steve that could be done

So where else can the team show up besides the Agent Carter show? They'd have to be dead in the modern day.

But in the MCU they weren't the Howling Commandos pre Steve were they? When Steve rescued them they had been captured all from different armies and divisions. He then handpicked the men for the HC which is why we have not only French, British but a racially integrated group when the US Army was racially segregated.

yeah they were. Sgt Fury and his howling commandos predate Captain America

I'm trying to find the exact date but it looks like just after Pearl Harbor is when they got together.

That's the comics though. We're talking about the MCU and (so far) I don't believe there's been any indication that - in the MCU - the HCs existed as the HCs before Cap put the team together.

not all of them no, but they were all together in the cell in First Avenger. Doesn't mean a few of them were together

For example, I can see Dugan, Frenchie and Gabe together

that's 616 though, MCU isn't beholden to any previous timelines/continuities
EXACTLY why do the HC have to follow the same timeline?
I'm saying there are quite a few Howling Commandos stories without Cap, they can go before or after First Avenger

Yep....in the other night's episode (THE IRON CEILING), Happy Sam Sawyer was played by actor Leonard Roberts, a young African American, when in the comics he has always been portrayed as a middle aged white guy.

Names of people from MARVEL comics can show up in the properties being produced by MARVEL STUDIOS....but they don't always appear exactly as they have been depicted in the past.

So they never mentioned the other four Commandos from the First Avenger?
