After Prince hit it big with Purple Rain in 1984, a new sound began to emerge out of Minneapolis, MN. It was a fresh and new sound that mixed R&B, Funk, Rock and Pop to create what is now known as "The Minneapolis Sound". And many artists (mainly from Prince's camp) began to get some shine, even if they had only one big hit to their name, it was still enough to make this genre of music last for a very long time.
