he's a 3-4 kind of guy, but he's a lefty.

the jays' rotation pretty much ends after halladay and burnett... and burnett can't really be relied upon.

And Triplefive, two things:

1) Good to see you babe!

2) There are other lefty's out there in farm systems...you could easily find one that ptiches as well as Lilly and with thier youth, they could get better making it a finer investment. IMHO

anyway, the jays aren't going to get there by signing the big hurt and royce clayton

i've heard that gagne is interested in coming to toronto... but we already have ryan, and he performed well last season. gagne barely even threw last year.

Sign some good vetreran relivers

If you extend Jones' contract, you won't have money for any vet relievers.

ah, what i meant earlier was that lilly said today that toronto is no longer on his list of possible destinations.

this is their year

i don't know how the jays are going to pick up enough pitching now that ted lilly's closed the door on them.

hopefully they can pick up gil meche. i don't know if i see that as a possibility though.

they'll probably lose vernon wells too -- unlikely that the jays will shell out the $10 mill/season he "should" be getting.

What makes you think the Jays will pick up Meche? I think the Ms has a weak bullpen and Meche is one of the better pitchers we've got so I doubt he'll be going anywhere. Keep your blue bird claws off my Ms.

Pretty good, he was 12-4 this past season if I'm right. Our starters were ok, but it was our relievers who kept blowing the games. They had a lot to do with our not-so-hot season. I look forward to Soriano giving us a hand
