Honestly, with how many comics I'm getting I doubt I get any of these maybes.

I'm excited that there's tons of good books here but the fact that 7 out of 10 of them are $4 is just rediculous. That's robbed me out of 2 books. And if I'm not mistaken I think Echo comes out this week so that'll be another comic to add to it at $3.50.

Man... that's some good deals. Out of curiosity I went through the month of December and picked out every single title I'd buy. The total cost was $134.13 (maybe a tad less from my shop for the minor discounts I get). I then checked to see what it would cost me on this website. Media Mail shipping included, it'd cost me $98.66 for a monthly savings of $35.47 plus gas. Now, I could do quicker shipping and up that cost but I don't mind waiting a week to get my comics. I'd just probably stop with the reviews, or at least post them a week late.

But man, that way I wouldn't have to cut comics left and right. That price is even including titles I was curious about but am not planning on picking up due to how expensive comics are.

I may have to seriously consider this avenue.

This is a true test of whether or not I will drop INVINCIBLE IRON MAN before the end of this arc. I get six Marvel books and all of them are $4 a pop - that's about $24 alone before I factor in BOOSTER GOLD. And to be honest, BG is very close to similar territory. It isn't a book I look forward to nor it is one I remember for long after I finish it. The deciding factor? Every issue is at least funny while I'm reading it, like paying $3 for a few jokes. IIM, on the other hand, rotates one great issue for every two or three slow to boring ones. It'll be about $27 without it and about $30 with it.

For me that's a bit to pay for a week of comics. Tom Brevoort would probably deny responsibility. Just who is responsible for Marvel's prices at Marvel? No one wants to own up to it, stand up and be proud to gouge their customers during a recession. Even Joe Q, who often offers up excuses and reasons, in his last few interviews claims it's up to someone else. So who is this someone? C'mon, take a bow for greed! Look us fans in the face and brag about how we deserve to pay the most for comics we ever have while Marvel is richer than it ever was while the rest of us are poorer than we've been since the 80's. Give us someone to thank for the honor of paying $24 for six comics. Even when someone brings up points like "does paper cost that much" and whatnot, someone always goes, "making them out of cheaper paper wouldn't lower the price much." Define "much". Would it be a nickel? A dime? A quarter? Because if Marvel genuinely feels customers would prefer to pay $3.99 versus, say, $3.95, then they need a reality check upside the head. But when it comes to stuff like whether to tack on those extra cents, well, that's plain ol' milk the suckers because money is awesome, and whoever approves that at Marvel, if it isn't Joe Quesada or Tom Brevoort or Axel Alonso, I want to know who it is so I can one day shake his or her hand at a con and go, "Thanks for the memories." Because if I ever do leave comics, it will be because I'll wise up and find other ways to enjoy what is becoming close to $100 a month for fewer comics than I got even when Obama was being sworn in. Practically anything else would offer me more enjoyment for my dollar. A video game, about ten films, a library of DVD's, a lap dance, anything.

Well, rant over. Overall it looks like a solid week. I AM AN AVENGER could fall anywhere between great, good, or meh. Fraction's losing me on IIM but who knows how THOR will pan out. The rest, though, should all be at least above average if not good.
