I've sorta lost my old Art Thread, and ive done so many manips and stuff since the last time ive updated i decided to start a new thread:yay:

this time however its 3D Animation/Modeling.(i dont know what other forum to post this in lol)

I started learning Autodesk Maya this August and im slowly learning more and more.

here's my progress... starting from back in August ('09)
ill start posting HD versions after these..

Really cool stuff! I'm gonna start 3-D graphics in about 2 months at school. It looks like a hell of a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.

its really frustrating sometimes... there's just so much tweaking involved its insane. maybe when i get used to it...

this semester was animation1.. which only focuses on modeling...
next semester ill finally learn to animate and rig the models.. and in animation 3 ill learn to composite it into live action and stuff.

Wow, pretty cool stuff. Nice passion for 3-D modeling, and I like how you make the texture and characters look cool! :D
 
any ideas of what i should attempt to model next?

preferably a cartoon character, not human-like, and not overly complicated with clothes..
ex: Sonic, Ahh real mosters, jimmy neutron
 
These are really great. The cobra is very striking, but I just love the dog.
 
starting learning ZBrush.. easier to model with zbrush, just requires some sculpting skills

rough lion door knob thing (20min)
 
quick creature design i sketched up... might model this sometime

 
head model ive been working on...

i prefer modeling in zbrush.. its less technical and more art
 
im creating an original character that i plan on rigging and in the future animating as well..

im basing it on this concept..
but changing it so it doesnt look too rocketeer/megaman-like, and more original.



this is all really rough so far..

decided to change up the design a bit.. everyone keeps saying it looks like megaman lol

 
The new stuff looks great! I just started working in Maya myself. Holy hell is it difficult. I feel like it's a cross between Open GL and Sketchup. You definitely need patience to do the work.
