Since its been confirmed that Sebastion Shaw and Emma Frost/White Queen and possibly another cast member, the "Man in black" for ex. will comprise the infamous Hellfire Club.

So let's speculate as to what their motives will be and who else from the club would you like to see on the big screen...

I'm just now getting into Ultimate X-Men and I would love it if the Hellfire Club were the ones that funded Xavier's school; the jet, cerebro, etc.

The idea of them funding the school would be cool and make sense, i mean how does Xavier get the wealth for all of that?

I hope they include a majority of the members though, i dont really know the name of them besides Shaw and Frost

That's a good point about Ultimate Hellfire Club. I wouldn't be surprised if they used that explanation since they're in this film.

Can we post pictures of the cast portraying the Hellfire Club?

^sure...and if you want a side by side comparison that's cool

K well I'm new and can't post pictures I don't think :/ I can find some however

I wonder if they will retcon the Phoenix plot. In X3 it was caused by Xavier blocking off the too powerful part of Jean's mind and that then developed into an alter ego. I wonder if this will use Shi'ar or just be looking for powerful telepaths.

I doubt we're going to see the Shi'Ar. At the most I think they might go with the Ultimate version where the Hellfire Club believe in the Phoenix as a supernatural entity and Professor X considers them to be all foolish and mistaking Jean's growing power as her being possessed by some deity. And then it turns out that the Hellfire Club was actually right. I didn't like the Ultimate version of the Phoenix Saga (aside from the Wolverine/Cyclops story) but I think the concept would be interesting if it were to be reinterpreted.

there's been Selene the Black Queen,
Magneto even at one point (wonder if they'd tie him to it in the films),
Pierce, and that's all i can remember at the moment, besides Shaw and Frost of course

do you count Tessa/Sage?

There was also Harry Leland. I liked him in the Phoenix Saga though they made him into a joke later on. I always liked his mass increasing abilities.

I would also love to see Mastermind but supposedly Jason Stryker was a very loose interpretation so I doubt we'll ever see a proper Jason Wyngarde in these movies.

There was also a bunch of other random members that probably won't show up like Madelyne Pryor or Fitzroy. Unless they really change the characters to the point there is no real reason to even use them.

i couldn't think of Leland. i could see him in my head and couldn't think of his name.

I really liked the Phoenix saga/Hellfire club storyline for The Animated series during the 90's , they did a great job of capturing the emotional and intensity of it i felt.

Emma, Shaw, Selene, Pierce, and Leland are probably the only members who anybody who knows about the books is going to really care about being in the movie. I could see them maybe thinking of including Shaw's son, Shinobi, and using Tessa as a mole for Xavier as well. If they wanted more characters, they could do a parallel of Xavier's school and include the Hellions too.

I hope they introduce Sage as Xavier's mole.

But i would be happy if she had a non speaking role. Just an actress behind Shaw with Sage's tattoo's on her face.

There are plenty of ways a telepath could make money, he would have to be a little dishonest, or at least not have any qualms about using his powers. Gambling would be easy for him, in high stakes games of poker for instance, there are always games going on in the world with millionaires, exclusive high security games, like the one in Casino Royale, and even more high stakes than that. He won't be able to control what cards he gets, but will obviously be able to 'see' everyone else's.

and stuff like Industrial espionage(i think Xavier would draw the line at that though), and of course quiz shows, it would be cool if we were introduced to a pre-wheelchair Xavier running down the stairs to the front of the stage, excited he has been selected for 'The Price is Right!'
then Magneto starts getting jealous about all the prizes and money Xavier is bringhing in, and then that's when he starts slipping weed killer into his shampoo, which precipitates their division of ideologies.

In the comics, Xavier came from a wealthy family and inherited the mansion. He probably did a good job investing their money.

A lot of the crazy tech came from the Shi'ar aliens, but since that won't fit, using the Hellfire Club for extra funding could work well.

I just don't want them to say he cheated his way to get rich.

i wouldn't mind seeing Nathaniel Essex as a member of the Hellfire Club. they don't have to take it further than that unless they choose a sinister route in the movies

surely the Hellfire Club would know a geneticist right?

Yeah, ach, i am the same, i was mainly just sepculating on how a telepath could make a lot of money.
But if he cheated bad guys out of money, I would be fine with that, criminals, warmongers, dishonest businessmen etc

I still think the Hellfire Club being the main financial source for the school would be the best. It would be the difference between the Hellfire Club just being the villains in the prequel and the Hellfire Club being essential to the story of the X-Men being formed.

Has Leland been mentioned at all?

I'll be disappointed if he isn't in the film.

I was thinking that with Magneto also once part of the Hellfire Club, maybe that's where his split with Xavier occurs. Magneto might well be keen to join such a society whereas Xavier wouldn't.

That would also explain how Mystique hooks up with Azazel if she follows Magneto and joins the organization as well. Maybe Magneto and Xavier seek funding for the school from the Hellfire Club but Xavier tries to back out after he learns more about their organization. Meanwhile, Magneto has grown more vengeful and agrees more and more with their methods. Maybe at the end Magneto realizes the Hellfire Club is too flat out evil to work with but he is still unwilling to go back with Xavier so he decides to form his own group for mutants.

nice.

I wonder how many members the Hellfire will have. It can be a great and complex plot. I like the sound of it.
