Hey yall! I was wondering if anybody is going to Mardi Gras parades this weekend? Me, my girlfriend, and a freakin bunch of our friends are going to Spanish Town Parade in Downtown Baton Rouge by the RiverCenter...Any body from on here from B.R. going this weeekn? We've got Monday-Wednesday off, so we're going partying down in New Orleans, then going Offshore fishing in Venice afterwards....It's gonna be the shizzznip!!!! HAPPY MARDI GRAS!!!!

Here's a couple of pictures of my friend "Katie German" in New Orleans this past weekend. She lives in Praireville, Louisiana. Which is about 20 mins from Baton Rouge Community College.

Never trust the media...I hate the media. LoL New Orleans is freakin fine...The 9th Ward was bad, but other than that it wasnt all that bad...I should post pictures of New Orleans compared to Venice, Louisiana. Venice is about 1hr 30mins past new orleans. Never saw it on the news...I can't stand the media, they dont look at anything but New Orleans. It's the end of the world if N.O. is gone. Then Brad Pitt and Jolie couldn't live there anymore!

If yall want to see satellite pictures of the REAL DEVASTATION i'll post a couple. You can see 200ft boat on the levees, churchs in the roads, Bridges laying in the bay, boats all over the place drifting...NewOrleans bad...Aint see NOTHING...Nothing. LoL It was worst than a nuke going off...Mother Nature is freaking tremendously powerful!

New Orleans is fine. Venice....getting there. But they both are way better than what it was like after KATRINA.

Venice after Hurricane Katrina:

Took them a few weeks to finally get this church out of the road. It was removed from its foundation during the hurricane. Venice received a 30 ft tide wave from the Mississippi River and about a 22-25 ft wave from the left side of YellowCotton Bay....Venice, Louisiana was under the water the day of Katrina thru December...No gas, No food, No shelter till Summer. Telephone polls were the first thing put up in Venice. This dead period was a "One Stop Shot" You go in and come out that day...You dont stay! Police Checkpoints are still going on at the same places they were in Venice re-opened.

This is Yellow Cotton Bay about 15mins north of where our camp was...We have a really nice new camp now. Those shrimp boat against the side of the road are still there. Never were moved! The Pogie Boats were removed b/c at the time that was the only way in and out of Venice. Mississippi River in on the Left side about say 150 yrds and YellowCotton Bay is on the right.

I always attributed Mardi Gras with Spring Break. Looking to go somewhere for drinking, girls and debauchery.

I always wondered what it would be like to be totally sober the whole night and just watch everything that goes on. I did that on Union Street here once. I haven't had more than one drink a night since. Mardi Gras would probably make me stop drinking altogether.
