It’s good they cancelled gaas games but I don’t hey why they are still moving forward with a horizon multiplayer game Sony needs to wake up…. I just don’t understand why Sony is shoving that franchise down peoples throats

Hermen Hulst used to work at Guerrilla Games... Maybe he has an emotional connection to the franchise/studio.

There's also Fairgame$ from Jade Raymond's studio that is still alive (for now)...

What am i reading, 8 out of 12 Live Service games have been cancelled by Sony so far...crazy.
Building your whole strategy around a Market that already is too full and has its big shots, a market that has proven to be incredible hard to hold onto...is absolutely insane.

Its a market where 8/10 games fail, and Sony built their whole Strategy for the next 10 years or what around that market.
Now it all falls apart, leaving Sony with crumbs only.

How do you tell a Studio known for making great Remaster/Remakes, to do live service instead of letting them revitalize your big pool of IPs with remaster and remakes?

Why would anybody be interested in a GOW Live service game?
My god are CEOs incompetent.

Jeff Grubb has said that Concord is to blame for Sony's cancellation of Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games' live service titles.

Concord may be Sony’s biggest game bomb of all time dating back to the beginning of PlayStation in 1994.

And it was current PlayStation co-CEO’s baby who pushed for the purchase of that studio.

Sony is a mess. The last two games from Bluepoint/Bend that I played came out more than 5 years ago - Shadow of the Colossus remake/Days Gone. I have zero interest in Demons Soul because that type of game genre isn't for me, but that game is turning 5 this year. Sucks for those studios, but I'm also a bit relieved that Sony is finally ditching some of their live service before they underperform or bomb.

For now, Bluepoint could remake God of War 1 and 2, and Bend could make Days Gone 2.

Nothing wrong with more Horizon. But the Horizon game most want to see is Horizon III, not the Lego game, not a vr game and not a multiplayergame.

It was obvious the sales were frontloaded. The lack of big games/console exclusives aren't good in the long run and its finally showing in sales. I've said this back in 2019 or 2020, but I knew it was too good to be true for the PS5 and theSeries X to be doing better than PS4 and Xbox One.

Now, if Sony really wants to launch PS6 by 2027, then they really should reconsider. This console era should have an extra year or two, before they launch the new consoles - PS6 and Series Y.

The PS5 sales weren't frontloaded. It was initially hindered by the limited supply and sales didn't really take off until 2 years after launch.

Supply being front-loaded compared to PS4 isn't the same things as the actual sales of the PS5 being front-loaded in its own cycle. As said, the sales of the PS5 increased significantly two years after launch. This picture doesn't have all the current info but the combined total of 2024 was 18.65M units.
