yeah, this policy doesn't even make any sense. Why let users upgrade for free to the PS5 version, only to make them start all over with their progress since their save files won't transfer over. That just doesn't make any sense.
Regardless, as I said in the Xbox thread, this is just one of several big outstanding questions that Sony needs to address ASAP. Are they going to come out and say the PS5 upgraded versions of Ghost, Horizon, and TLOU2 will require us either to pay for the "remastered" version (like Spider-Man) or else that our progress won't carry over? What about other 3rd party titles like Cyberpunk or AC Valhalla?
If there are indeed going to be more "barriers" to games and saves transferring seamlessly from the PS4 to PS5, and more so than what Xbox is doing, that would definitely give me pause and cause me to possibly rethink my decision to go with PS5.
I don't really want to be in that position, but I won't be happy if my saves and progress on all my PS4 games won't transfer over to the PS5 and I'd have to start all over.
So, Sony definitely has to clear this up.
