Skyrocket lol Do you know what type of climate this is, we have people out here struggling to get by in this world
The fact they want you to pay for the vertical stand and a separate disk drive that would cost a additional $200-$250 is a disgrace.
Then factor in the minimal differences, so much so they had to ZOOM in to show the comparison is another disgrace.
No mention of any exclusives or new games in general that can show off the hardware so once again they use PS4 remake footage

The future of new generation of consoles (Excluding Nintendo) could be...Could $900 - $1000 and those will be released in the next couple of years.

I thought this gen of consoles were meant to tap into 120FPS as 60FPS is the STANDARD and has been the standard for years but nope some of these games aren't even tapping into current gens potential, THAT IS INSANE.

Its a selection of L's every gamer should be worried about. As a Xbox gamer myself its our piss pure hangover of 2013 that has allowed Sony to pull this BS. No competition from xbox has allowed the disconnect to grow between gamer and corporation.

I don't think people realise just how important the consequences of this decision has made on the gaming industry for all involved. Its not a joke to me, the backlash has been warranted but the key thing is if people decide to vote with there wallets because saying and actually doing are never the same thing from previous experience.

Price is a joke. No stand, no disc drive. Should at least have those and a pro controller for that steep a cost. Good lord.

I miss the days when currency conversion happened in the UK too. $700 is not £700.

Ps4 era was good in prices.

Even the games didn't take long to be cut in half. I remember getting a good deal for both God of War 2018/Spider-Man for about 40 dollars. 40 dollars for two games in 2019, so they were about 18 to 20 each... While Ragnarök, last time I checked, still hasn't dropped its price.

Hard to say.
Considering the Disc Drive is missing, i would say at the very least 75 bucks less since that is how much the disc drive costs.
The question is how expensive the additional technology in it is.
Maybe 600? How much is the regular ps5 digital?
It shouldnt cost that much more than a regular one who has stuff like a drive and stand.

The Race was always going to become obsolete, the writing was on the wall for long.
With the last console generation we already pretty much reached where we could with Graphics.
The steps we now take are minimal at best.
You have 8-9 year old games that can stand eye to eye with games from 2024 because the gap is not that big.

Everyone was so focused on Graphics, so much was sacrificed to be able to say a game has good graphics...and now we pretty much reached the point where that isnt truly a selling point anymore because most games have good graphics.
Good looking games that in terms of the art style, often are super bland and lack character.
The industry needs to realize that and go back to where art style etc is top priority...not 4k textures or so.

I guess more people will buy or keep playing their regular PS5. Hopefully they are forced to adjust. It doesn’t look like Xbox are looking to compete on consoles anymore after sales collapsed in Europe and are supporting others and looking to sell games more than consoles. Just a shame if this leads to serious monopoly power for PS and exorbitant pricing going forward.

$500 is the only correct answer. under no circumstances should video game consoles cost MORE than half a grand.

Sony should've made the Ps5 pro $500, cut the price of the regular Ps5 to $400, and then just discontinued the Ps5 AD.

Iceman, do NOT underestimate the power of CoD! it is the best selling game ~every single year, and if casual consumers can get it via a subscription on Xbox then they will be drawn to it instead of paying $70 for it every year!

Xbox would have to improve their terrible marketing too. A lot of casuals don’t even know what game pass is yet! And they slashed their marketing budget further recently.

I don’t know. Very dumb strategy when you’re far behind and the parent company has so much cash on hand.

Like I posted a while back, upgrading your TV and audio system like I did is a better use of money.

How much are the additionals like the stand and disc drive likely to be? In the non US regions the price is really bad. I don’t want it to do well or the PS6 is also likely to be unusually expensive while devoid of some additionals.
