The Only Vs. Thread You Need - Hydra vs. COBRA.

That's right - Hydra vs. COBRA.

Hydra - the premiere criminal organization of the Marvel Universe has its roots in WWII, under the leadership of Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker.

COBRA - arch enemies to GI Joe, this criminal terrorist organization is led by Cobra Commander.

Now these two groups find themselves caught in a gang war of sorts, both battling for ultimate supremacy over the other.

Who takes it and how?

Hydra. Cobra's leaders always seemed pretty incompetent, even for Saturday morning cartoon standards. Hydra, on the other hand, was running up against S.H.I.E.L.D. in its prime.

I mean lemme think, the Baroness has loads of cash, Destro is THE premiere weapons dealer in the entire world. Funding and weapons are not a problem for them.
But Cobra's real strength lies in Cobra Commander.

He is nefarious, I mean really twisted and brilliant. He understands the workings of the Joes, intimately knows some of their key operatives (Snake Eyes? Duke?) and has the people skills to continue to recruit converts.

Not only that, but right now, he is chief advisor and trusted confidant of THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! thats right boys and girls, he has the ear of the president himself because Cobra commander is a wily dude and has slithered his way straight on into the top. Joe is taking a pounding from Pheonix Guard right now and thats because Commander has turned everyone against them.

It's a truly brilliant move, using U.S. forces to destroy U.S. forces.





That being said, Cap would win against the Joes, He's Captain Friggin America, winning is what he does.
But I would like to see him go up against Duke.

Cap would take down Duke in 10 seconds. I think the only Joe who could go toe to toe with Cap is Beachhead (based on him being a Navy Seal) and Snake Eyes (based on him being Snake Eyes).

... and maybe the Sgt. Slaughter, as he was depicted in the cartoon. Just because he was stupidly portrayed as having godlike powers in the animated series.
