Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the first ever Superherohype Fantasy Football JewBowl! Why the JewBowl? Because I think it sounds snazzy! Anyhow, this is a 16-person league gathering for our very first season. It is my hopes that this league continue to move forward season after season and that we all get to know and hate each other for years to come.

I've borrowed the exact same settings of the "Official SHHFFL" from TheManOfBat, who was gracious enough to allow me to do so. We are not in connection to the Official League but being that they have been around for 7 seasons, I make all acknowledgment that they are THE League and we're just the up and comers, so if there's any openings in their League in upcoming seasons, they very well may talent scout through this one. I've given them this permission, so know that if you play well you may be invited into the Elite. But for now, we're still building our name... though let's be honest... we're all here for the same reason; to play some fantasy football, talk a little smack, and just have a lot of fun.

A Note To Players:

1) I have the League set up, please PM me your E-Mails so that I may send you an invite.

2) Please post your team name here once you set that up.

3) I currently have the Draft set up for Monday night, August 30th, but that is subject to change if needed. Let me know if there is a problem with this and I will attempt to find a better date.

4) Please let me know your timezone so that I can plan the time of the draft accordingly to best fit as many of our scheduals as possible.

5) Don't be procrastinators!!!! Start getting your fantasy draft lists together. Obviously you don't have to have them asap, as we aren't drafting for another month, but I don't want to have to be waiting on draft lists the morning of the draft.

6) And lastly, for new players... when you get the invite feel free to root around the League page. It's fairly user friendly but just takes some time to get used to. If you need help setting up your draft or team name or anything of that nature, just as me or any other experienced Fantasy Football player. We'll be happy to help set you up to fail

Another thought I had was that not all of us know each other here, so maybe a little bit about each other.

My name is JewishHobbit (though I'm neither Jewish nor Hobbit). I've debated dropping the Jewish part to just being The Hobbit for years... sadly though, I've been JewishHobbit for 7 years now and it'd be wierd to change... so I never do. I've hosted three seasons of the Contest of Marvels here on the hype and I'll be hosting my first game of Survivor here in about a month (I tend to overload myself... I know), and I've enjoyed playing several seasons of the Marvel RPG and the Dream Team League. I just love playing games.

I'm a Bengals fan but haven't been for very long. I grew up not liking sports at all but my wife got me into Football by forcing me to sit down and watch a game just a few years ago (the game where Carson Palmer's leg got taken out). I was hooked immediately and have loved it ever since. I played in my first ever fantasy league last year among some church friends and fell in love, finishing 2nd out of 8 players (Witchking finishing 1st), and have been dying to play again. I wasn't necessarilly looking to host a league but with the Official League full I decided to just go balls in and give it a shot. Here's hope I don't suck, but if I do, blame TheManofBat... just for the fun of it.

So let me hear a little about you guys.

My SN is Green Lantern obviously, but you all can call me GL or Rob. I've been a football fan since 1996, though I've always been a Bronco fan, just didn't understand the sport until then. I do prefer college football to professional, if only because the players still have heart. For college I'm a fan of the Texas Longhorns. I played football all through high school, at receiver and safety. This time of year when two-a-days are starting up, I miss it a lot. Until I remember what a ***** two-a-days were.

I'm E-Man. I take pride in having the hyphen in my name like Spider-man. I'm that guy. What guy? That guy! I'm that guyyyyyyyyyyyy.

But yeah, about football I'm a die-hard Cowboy fan. I've been watching football for probably about 20 years now, and hardcore for about 15 of those years when I could pay attention easier. I can't get enough of the sport. It is far and away my favorite sport.

I don't know what my team name will be yet, but as soon as I set it up I'll post all the details in this thread. If I win prepare for me to dance and taunt you all with the greatest celebration ever. If I somehow am not the winner, then this competition is rigged and I will call the FBI and/or Batman to take you all down!

I'm Poeman....Yeah, thats right. I am die-hard suffering New York Jets fan. However since the Tandem of Rexy and Tanny joined things are going bright for us. Superbowl? Maybe. Possibly...Okay! PLEASE!

Hmm, that's wierd. I read through them to find the live one and selected it. I KNOW I did. Oh well, it should be fixed now.

Yeah, if anyone wishes to read through the League and make sure everything is good feel free. I put it together today to get this thing started but I've not really been in a mood to do so. Today is the one year anniversary of my baby niece's death, add that to the fact that we had to go to a baby shower for a friend who's due in October, one day prior to when my wife and I were due prior to our miscarriage, it's been a rough day. So I'm prone to make mistakes while getting the League together. Hopefully that was the only one.

My name is NewYorkSpider. I joined the hype a little over 4 years ago. This will be my 4th year in fantasy football. I'm actually not from New York. The name PennsylvaniaSpider just didn't sound good.


I''ve been a Carolina Panthers fan since they were brought into the league. I'm hoping they can get back to the playoffs this year and make a run for the Super Bowl. They have a lot of weapons on offense and should contend for a Wild Card spot.

I wasn't really a huge football fan back then. I remember watching the Hall of Fame game(which featured the Carolina Panthers vs Jacksonville Jaguars). The Panthers won that game and I just said that's my team. I never thought once about changing to the Steelers/Eagles.

I'm messing around with the whole league thing and checking out the page. I have never done fantasy football before and I noticed that you can do mock drafts to kind of get a feel for how the system works.

Seems that I am going to have a problem because I go to the mock draft and then when it starts to go to the page to start my draft my browser keeps crashing and when I keep going back it just continues to crash no matter what I do.

This may be a problem when it comes to the live draft. I am not sure what the problem is.

My handle here is Holiday of course but y'all can call me H for short (I think it sounds cool ). I've been a fan of the NFL since I was kid, minus a few years I didn't watch until about 03-04 when I picked it up again. Been a Charger fan since '06.

I'd join in officially once I come up with a decent team name.

You can set up your draft list so that the computer will automatically draft for you during our live draft (just taking the next available player on the top of your list). This is used for those who can't be on during the actual live draft. Likely, you can set this up and that way you can still draft without crashing. Just take a lot of care into puting your list together, accounting for positions and who you think would be taken early and all that.
