Sorority Row Gets a Rating!
Frequent Shock reader and horror hound Joey dropped us a line this afternoon with word on the MPAA rating for Summit Entertainment's fall horror film Sorority Row.

According to an insider close to the production who shall remain nameless, the film will be rated R for "strong bloody violence, language, some sexuality/nudity and some partying." Interesting, because looking at the trailer you might automatically peg this one as a PG-13 thriller.

There's still quite a few months between now and the film's October 2nd release, we'll see if this rating holds.

The original title of the original is The House On Sorority Row.

One of the actresses, Briana Evigan, is also starring in the movie "Burning Bright". She plays the older sister of an autistic child. Both of them are trapped with an escaped tiger in their house during a storm. I think it's kind of like Cujo, or something.

How do you possibly pitch that with a straight face ? It's like Cujo except with a tiger! Because you know that's way more probable.

Somebody bought it. The film is now in post-production. According to other details, Briana's character also loses her patience with her autistic brother because he doesn't seem to understand the peril they're in.

A slasher flick like this only needs blood & nudity, and plenty of screaming. Doesn't need to be very deep.

This movie doesn't really need a deep meaning. But I guess thats just some people being snobbish I don't know what to say.

I mean its not like anyone is forcing people to see something they don't wanna see.

If you're looking for a thinking mans movie or a thriller then sorry this isn;t for you. They tell you what it is right in the trailer. A straight up killer killing hot chicks.

who says i need deep meaning? believe me, i love the s**t out of slasher/horror flicks. boobs, blood, and gore are the base necessities for any worthwhile horror flick. but i find it hard to believe that this film is going to even be imaginative enough to wield those aspects properly. a killer killing hot chicks? im down with that. but theres good and bad ways of doing it.

Like I said before, if your looking for a movie that has Tension then your looking at the wrong place.

PLUS THIS IS A REMAKE OF A 80's film! So expect it to be 80s ish!

I never stated that I won't watch it. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a crap movie since its so accessible. Im simply saying that Im growing a little irritated with the high number of mediocre slasher and horror pics, especially remakes.
