Did anyone else think it was FREAKING AMAZING? Not so much the effect, but the BOOM SOUND. Maybe its just me, or my theatre, but it felt like that one explosion visually and audio-ly (sp!) cost 2 million right there. I knew the movie was going to be great right after it haha. A bunch of other people were talking about it post-movie too.

I also have to agree, that moment was freakin' sweet!! My three friends and I also loved that - it looked and sounded unreal.

yeah I was almost unsure what was going on at first...I also thought the volume was low in my theatre and BANG! It was so friggin' cool.

No no, it's more like I missed the damn movie (I haven't seen it yet, and won't until Aug4'th!), but I really wanna hear about this.. What's this BOOM???

Their sun exploding.

Ohhh the Krypton's RED sun???? I thought it was something at the end... Can't wait to see it...

Can we at least agree, even though many had hoped to see the black and white comic book intro, that the 6 lines explaining supes background and absence was a more thrilling and greater way of opening up?? How did it look? Some say it was close to star wars:)

Believe it or not, I did get a Star Wars impression from the beginning. I kept thinking that this movie was a bit of a sendoff to George Lucas.

^I believe that it will bring up a star wars feel, but that I dont mind at all, cause it's not, other than the blue text, which I think is cool... yet there are many other things that I could complain about NOT beeing in the film, without having seen it.

Without the sound that you're all raving about:)... how does it LOOK when Krypton blows up??? I have this image inside of my head, that it looks something along the same as when the mothership blows up in Independence Day (if some of you can remember that scene)

It looked pretty cool, but because there was a lot happening in this particular scene, I'd have to see the movie again before I could really describe it.

the sun disappears, basically collapsing in on itself, then there's nothing for a moment...then a shcokwave followed by a giant explosion which engulfs krypton, and it breaks apart hurling millions of giant meteors everywhere.

^now that sounds cooooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

patience, naite...the more you find out about the movie before your see it, the worse it's gonna be for you.

overexposure is not a good thing, and for this movie, i regretted my prior obsession as i was watching.

keep some anticipation, my friend. =)

^true, but damn it's hard:)
So you are one of those that checked the internet every day for new superman returns stuff as well!??? so does that mean that there's NO surprises in store for those who did???:(

Wow...sounds really cool.
And the sun exploding was the reason Krypton exploded?

I don´t like it for one bit.....but it does sounds cool :)

Isn't that the way it has always been???

Its called a Supernova. Krypton's star was a Red Giant, which is what happens to a most stars right before death.

Our Sun will do that in 5 billion years. I'm sure our species will be elsewhere by then.

What is it that someone said about the opening credits!!??? They didn't like it because it was too 3D!!! What BS is that?? what do they mean by that? too 3D??? and something about what was going on in the background while the text is flying didn't fit??

It's nice to see that the laws of physics are being followed in this movie, though in the original Donner film it was a different type of nova that took out Kryton.
