Lin-Manuel Miranda to Adapt 'The Warriors' Stage Musical - Variety - Can you dig it!?

I guess it was inevitable.:funny:

Loved the original, so I actually prefer this to a straight remake which would have never captured it, reinventing to much for modern audience, betraying the original.
Though I'm not the biggest stage Musical fan, this is so out-there, it's own thing, it could work.

The combo actually makes sense; Miranda, NY setting, diverse cast, the radio DJ narrator/Greek Chorus(Anabasis), and they don't even have to camp up the costumes and gangs for a musical, since they already look the part.
(though I'll admit the outragous Baseball Furies and Hi-Hat gang terrified me as a kid. Seeing them in a musical dance rumble (West Side Story:funny: style) might finally ease that nightmare (or just exasperate it?).:D
I hope they keep it set in the 70s.
Don't know if he got the rights to the films original tracks? I hope so, it's not the Warriors without-
