So i'm curious what the feeling is for this show over in America... clearly causing headlines in the UK with the loss of Simon and Cheryl (Thank you btw).

Judges:
Simon Cowell
Cheryl Cole
Paula Abdul
L.A.Reid

Presenters:
Nicole Sherzinger
Steve Jones

Show starts in September... The X Factor has always been more about the drama, spectacle and judges than its ever been about the talent. But it has been fun.

Do you expect it to surpass the stale American Idol?
Is the return of Paula exciting or simply old news?
Is Cheryl as a 'nobody' something you guys welcome?
The presenters... do you even know who Steve Jones is?

I have to say after the whole Mariah Carey/Katy Perry/Rihanna rumours... good old Paula and Cheryl 'ye alrite pet' Cole seems underwheming.

X Factor USA has the worst Peter Dickson impressionist doing the voice over. If it isn't Peter Dickson, it isn't X Factor!

I still can't get over them sending drew home :argh:

I'm upset with Drew elimination, too but I'm not really surprised. She and Simon brought it on her by themselves with her song choices and performances at the live shows.

"The X Factor": How did it go so wrong?

Among the problems with this first season are Steve Jones (who's made Ryan Seacrest look good), the indecisive Nicole Scherzinger, the over-production, the cruelty towards children and, finally, the groups.

- remove Steve Jones immediately... for obvious reasons.

- remove Nicole Scherzinger... shes too fluffy and a complete airhead. Always on about God and butterflys and unicorns. (but I liked her on our version last year, weirdly)

- remove Paula Abdul... While I liked her more than I did on American Idol, she is still a bit ditzy and embarrasing. Almost as if she speaks without thinking and always choosing the wrong words. Also nobody cares about ''Saula'' anymore. Move on Simon.

- New set... even compared to the UK version, the set feels small and cramped. The show lacks that ''live finals'' feel.

Do those things and its a start.

Paula was what was wrong with the Groups. Groups can work with the right mentor and people. Tulisa proved that this year on the UK version.

Simon Cowell's flaw: He picked Steve Jones, Nicole Scherzinger based on looks

Here's hoping the rumors of Jones and Scherzinger's "X Factor" departure are true, says Linda Stasi. Simon, she says, has "got to stop choosing people for their looks and start picking them for their personalities, quirkiness, humor and good judgment." PLUS: Steven Tyler says "Idol" has "just a little richer mixture" of judges than "X Factor."

Well the act I wanted to win actually won, I'm very happy about that. Here's hoping next year the groups will have a longer shelf life, I really like the stereo hoggz and would've loved to have seen more of them.

Well half the cast is gone. Steve is fired, Nicole is fired, and Paula is fired.

Simon aint playing around. He is going to get his 20 million viewers!

I figured Steve and Nicole would go, but Paula?

Yeah i don't understand why he got rid of Paula. Anyway, No matter what i don't think the show will ever managed to reach the 20 millions viewers mark.
I hope season 2 will be much better then season one, because season one sucked!

This was the smartest decision Simon has made in a looong time...

I knew he would throw Steve Jones and Nicole out a window, but I imagine it was pretty hard to get rid of Paula for him. (But then she always felt like a last minute addition to the panel, after a bigger star probably pulled out.)

I bet Cheryl Cole is laughing her head off.

"The X Factor's" problem: It wasn't fun to watch
The firings of Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones were justified, says Peter Larsen and Michael Hewitt, but Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid weren't that much better. "Paula and Nicole were terrible as judges/mentors," the say, adding: "Steve was stiff and cold as the host. His main focus was to make the judges stop talking, and he wasn’t very good at that. The contestants he treated as warmly as his cue cards."

True which is why the UK version is surperior imo since it is fun and yet the contestants are still good.

But I think if they bring in Mariah it could lighten up a little more.
