Wal-Mart Pulls Bully In Game Violence Controversy
Aug 17, 2006 @ 3:07pm
Jack Thompson strikes again: Wal-Mart has stopped accepting pre-orders for the upcoming video game Bully amid allegations by the anti-video game crusader that it is "pre-selling a controversial, violent game to children prior to its October 1 release.

In a petition filed with the company Tuesday, Thompson demanded that Wal-Mart stop accepting pre-orders for the title until its contents have been properly reviewed and rated by the ESRB. "This is akin to a pharmaceutical company selling a new and controversial drug without prior FDA approval," he says.

Thompson also sent letters to several other retail outlets such as Amazon and Gamestop advising them to stop accepting pre-orders of the title as well.
