I like Depp's voice. It's alot more like acting and less like stage singing.

It's amazing that Depp is 44. I would never think of it.

Depp has to be the best actor of my generation (born in 1990). At the very least, top 3.

If nothing else, the visual effect of this movie will be astounding.

I mean, Depp's voice and singing notwithstanding, the visual impact of that scene is amazing...the body language, and the snarling look on his face when he says, "I want you bleeders," is frightening in its own right.

Plus, I just find onstage productions terrible.
Why?

Indeed.

he's a bit dry, compared to others
Well, I think he runs circles around Michael Cerveris, whose vocal performance feels quite artificial and devoid of genuine passion.

Yes. It is a good sound and will serve the film very well (film, after all, is a more intimate setting than stage). But I do wish it was a bit more powerful.

is this going to be a musical? or is depp just singing a little in that one scene?

anyone else notice not only is the Jack Sparrow voice there, obviously, but the first half of the trailer music is the same music from the AWE trailer

And like in a minute in you see this huge ship sailing in the sea! LOL

Definitely. For the past few years he's been my favorite actor of this generation. I am very much anticipating this film.

I know, and the fact that he is still doing well and looks good still.

And his 44 and people of all ages fancy him lol.

I'm pretty sure that that's just his unrefined British Accent, he doesn't have the most nuanced ability with accents.

He seems to be chanelling his Sparrow performance, great trailer.

Could someone point out a specific spot in the trailer when he is channelling his Sparrow performance? I thought he was too, but can't specificly find a spot when he is.

I think the scene with him saying "I will have salvation!" is pretty awesome. The music is so good.

Is Elfman doing this?

I was wondering the same thing. Even though the music (in that scene) is more or less the same as the music in the play, it does have an Elfman feel to it...

Then again, the music at the beginning of the trailer reminded me of the music from Batman Begins...

So I'm at a loss. Maybe my mind automatically associates Burton with Elfman, but that music at the start of the trailer has kinda thrown me off. Meh.

Elfman isn't involved at all. Sondheim himself has been working on the score, likely in collaboration with orchestrator Jonathan Tunick. That said, the score does share some of Elfman's sensibilities.

Yeah. Good ol' generic "intense" trailer music.

Word.

It's the exact same music from the PotC3 teaser.

 on Sweeney being R

:down on Beowulf being PG-13

Zemeckis want to release two versions of BEOWULF : a PG-13 one and a NC-17 one
