So 'Kiss Me' is cut, but 'Wait' is in? A song like wait does absolutely nothing for the plot.

Actually, "Wait" does do something for the plot. It helps to establish the arc of Lovett's and Todd's relationship.

Kiss Me is an annoying song anyway

I've always thought it was one of the lovelier moments of the score.

Anthony and Johanna are annoying characters, but still important.

That depends entirely on how they're played. With a good actor and actress in the lead, I find them highly enjoyable.

They're execrable on the Lansbury/Hearn DVD, though. :::shudders:::

The porkchop sideburns, the sunken eyes, and the Burtonesque hair looks so great on Depp! I believe Tim Burton has made another brilliant film, I'm going to have to use the phrase again.

Phenomenally nightmarishly superbly enthralling.

Johanna is alright, Anthony annoys me to the point of violence. Then again, I only saw the recent concert version (for those who haven't seen it, it's all on YouTube), so other versions might be better.

Slashfilm has a new image from Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd, which you can see below, plus a new TV spot, titled 'Forgive', which you can see here. The video's playing a little jerky when we try to watch it, but there's some new footage in there.

The new image gives us the first full shot of Anthony Hope (Jamie Campbell Bower), the young sailor who returns to London with Sweeney Todd after the latter has been in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Anthony then falls in love with Todd's daughter Johanna, without knowing who her father is, while Todd dances off to merrily slash some throats while singing ditties. We don't want to ruin the movie for you, but all does not go entirely smoothly for any of the characters.
