Get set for Titanic 2. Only this time it won’t be directed by James Cameron but by the Iranian director, Ali Atshani, according to the Iranian Mehr News Agency. But make no mistake about it, the production intends to be as titanic a production as Cameron’s. “The film requires a gigantic set to be built, and it will take a long time to make the necessary arrangements for the preproduction stage,” Atshani said in an interview with the wire service. He plans to spend a year in preproduction on the feature, which will tell the story of an actual Iranian traveler on the Titanic, the wife of an American businessman who was traveling with a rare manuscript of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayam when the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank a hundred years ago. The manuscript went down with the ship.
