Tomboy (Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver)

I think I heard rumors of this before. This could be very good with Weaver and Rodriguez involved. At least I hope it is good.

I can totally see Michelle being a former dude. So this works. ;)

But really.. its sort of way out there, to go to a dude to a woman's body.. probably would take some months (if not longer) to actually do- muscle mass, body shape and such
Bet "she" wakes up with shaved legs too.

Oh-kay. Well. As long as there is a sequence where the main character admires herself in the mirror in underwear, go for it.

From what I have read about sex-change surgeries (Cracked has interviewed people who went through it) it takes months of hormone treatment and therapies to acclimate the body and mind to it. Usually a minimum of a year.

Whatever or however they do it in the movie will likely either side-track that or do a montage of some sort of he getting used to becoming she.

Well Michelle is already a dude in a female body, so it works.

But seriously, Michelle Rodriguez is the most singularly under used action movie regular around. I'm glad she finally gets a headline action film. Hopefully one that becomes a franchise.

And shame on all of you for not picking up this is a new Walter Hill flick.

Honestly, they should just go ahead and make VASQUEZ, an Alien spinoff starring Michelle Rodriguez as a colonial marine who gets mistaken for a man.

Michelle as either the Tomboy, or Ezio Auditore.

Sweet mother in heaven.

Okay so its "War", but with a sex change, lol.

I have a feeling SJW on tumblr might go on the rampage if they hear about this film.

When I clicked this thread and read the description, I thought it was just going to be a situation of having some male actor play the role in the opening and then switch to Rodriguez. As soon as I scrolled down and saw that pic, I laughed.

Yeah, despite the fact Rodriguez herself says it's a film for transgender people, some of the reactive types will find something to complain about. In fact it's strange I haven't seen the usual suspects appear yet.

Because nothing with "good intentions" has ever got it wrong? Because culture insensitivity is judged by what an actor says and not the actual content and how those being portrayed perceive it?

And I feel like you and Napoleon qualify as the "usual suspects" when it comes to these topics. :funny:

Yeah dude "Zoe Quinn is the sympathetic figure in the gamer gate story/you have every right to criticise Alex Proyas and Summit films/video games should be for everyone" stannis. What a disgusting bigoted MRA redneck I am.

All we know about this film is that there's "good intentions" behind it. Maybe they will cock it up, or maybe we get something that stands alongside Sense8 as something that gives transgender people hope.

People like you are the reason scum like Trump have so many supporters.

I really like Rodriguez and the concept is so ridiculous that it might work.

I don't see how this would be a negative spin on the whole transgender thing. If someone took me and changed me into a woman without my consent I would be ****ing pissed.

There will always be someone who will take offense to something no matter the intended and otherwise majority acknowledged view.

Excepting the usual phobics who will decry it as more "gay agenda" propaganda, someone who is transgender is likely to be offended for whatever reason, whether they have a valid complaint or not. Even if 99% of all transgender people think it was done appropriately, there will be that 1% who think it was offensive.

Just how it is. And unless any of us are transgendered I don't think any of us has a right to complain about it, least of all a movie that hasn't even finished filming yet.

When it comes to people getting offended by art, it often seems like you have people who get offended on behalf of those who they perceive said piece of art offends. For example, Chris Rock said that he's stopped performing on college campuses because the people there cannot take a joke, yet he performs his 'Two Different Kinds of Black People' routine in front of a crowd of black people and they were hysterical. Heck I have Aspergers yet I laughed my ass off at the South Park episode poking fun at it, and I'm sure a lot of people got up in arms about that. All I'm saying is if I were a minority, I'd find it offensive that others were speaking on my behalf about what I should be offended by.

And for the record, I loved Fury Road and defended it from the idiots criticizing the movie for making Furiosa the focus, spoken out against critics of the diversity in the new Star Wars stuff, and am no fan of Trump. Yeah, I'm totally an evil [insert whatever]ist that drinks the blood of babies.
