Completely agree that Kurt is underrated, to me he rode in the same lane as Mel Gibson and Bruce Willis rather than Arnie and Sly, in that he has a broader filmography. Just need to work out the exact order of my top 10.

Agreed, it's tightly put together thriller with an intriguing mysery, a believeable everyman protagonist and a couple of really well done set pieces.

1. Escape from New York. First three are easy. Nobody used Russell better than Carpenter. His characters had a spark against typical Russell roles.
2. The Thing. I can interchange this one with EfNY depending on my mood. His two best roles.
3. Big Trouble in Little China.
4. Overboard. Critics aren't fans, but I adore this movie.
5. Stargate. Been a while since I saw this one, but I watched it regularly in 90s.
6. Death Proof.
7. Unlawful Entry. Even though Ray Liotta completely steals the show.
8. Breakdown.
9. Tombstone. Even though Val Kilmer completely steals the show.
10. Backdraft.
