1. Inception.

2. The Town.

3. The last exorcism.

4. Scott Pilgrim movie.

5. Shutter Island.

Just opinions folks remember just opinions. Hopefully this doesn’t close because people lack the ability to grasp others might not necessarily like what they do.

Hehe, then what did you find that wasn't "overrated"? I've only seen four outta the six(top 5?) you posted, and I liked them all. Not the best movies ever, but I liked them.

1. Scott Pilgrim
2. Kids Are All Right
3. Kick Ass

All I can think of

I can only think of one: Kick Ass. Didn't like it at all.

The Town
Scott Piligrim vs the World
The Other Guys
The Kids Are All Right
Iron man 2

I can't think of any in particular. The Tourist should of been good but that was a let down .

I'd say Salt , It's got decent action and I liked it but wouldn't say it was anything great.

Also Easy A , Emma Stone was good but I didn't like the movies.

Inception was a good film that I liked, however I'd agree that it was overrated.

Shutter Island was one of my favourite films last year.. I didn't think it was overrated if anything it was underrated as it didn't get talked about enough.. at least in the UK anyway.

Kick-Ass was overrated.

Scott Pilgram was overhyped & overrated, its easily one of the worst films I've ever had the mispleasure of seeing.. tried too hard to be funny & it wasn't.

That's pretty much all I can think of in terms of films I actually felt were overrated, I could name you a handful I thought were underrated..

I've yet to see it but I'll take a stab & say Tron Legacy is probably overrated.. infact I'm only seeing it because of its hyped up trailers & whatnot.

There weren't too many of those this year for me.

Four Lions
Enter The Void

Inception. I love it, but some people speak of it tooo highly

Toy Story 3. I thought it was a cute movie, but I think people are responding more to the nostalgia than the movie itself.

That's a very good point. But I think new audiences can latch on just as easily. Not as strong, but they will still like it...

1. Toy Story 3 - Didn't get the estactic love for the film, I thought it was considerably inferior to the other films in the franchise bar one or two scenes/

2. Get Him To The Greek - Sean Combs was the only saving grace, I really can't stand Russell Brand and I didn't really find Brand playing up to his wannabe rockstar image in anyway interesting.

3. Easy A - Same problems as Juno - Overly and unrealistically cool parents and a teenager who's a bit too good at the witty one liners.

4. Red - Found nothing great about it to be honest.

5. The Runaways - A poorly paced film and not enough time invested in the characters to make us care about them.

For me, the only movie I've seen that was overrated, both in general and on this forum, is The Social Network. It was like a better-written, acted, and directed version of Pirates of Silicon Valley, but still not really anything special. Excellent acting, particularly from Jesse Eisenberg and Armie Hammer.

Havent seen enough to make a top 5 but I think Kick-Ass was overrated. Slightly falls apart because of a bland leading actor.

All I can think of is:

The Town--good film, but this didn't strike me the way it has lots of others.

Shutter Island--maybe I need to see this again, but I did see it twice and I just disliked it. Bringing Out the Dead was MUCH better, and it got shafted, I think.

Kick-Ass--except for Chloe Moretz's performance, this film was just nothing special, IMO.

ETA: The Fighter--well-made enough, but except for Bale's and Leo's performances, I didn't see the reason for all the excitement. Adams is good also, as Plucky Gal Pal.

Pretty much agree with your assessment.
