Ok so today I went over to the hardware store and on my way out I decided to have a look in Smyths, which is a toy store here...a ****ty toy store and only one. I wanted to see if they would have The Dark Knight figures and of course they didn't.

I look to my left and I see some security guard pointing to me. I had my head phones on. Listening to a bit of ol Iron Maiden. I took my headphones out and I heard him say ''Take off your hood''. Now if you seen my other thread a while back I explained scumbags here(people up to no good) where hoods all the time in stores no one will see there disgusting faces as they steal. But they always where Nike hoodies and Nike pants. I was wearing a blue hoodie/blaster transformers shirt and shorts. I told the security guard not to stereotype me and he said if I don't take if off I can leave. I told to take his bs rule and shoved it up his a**. I then left.

This security guard thought he was the next best thing with the cigarette in his ear and weight lifting gloves on.

Looks like I'll just order my TDK figures.

It was a chili day, the store was even colder.

That explains why you were wearing a hoodie... Not why you had the hood up.

And if there is this gang of Nike hood wearing "scumbags" stealing from stores in your town/city, is it possible that the person who owns the toy store told the security guard to be extra cautious of hoddie "scumbags", and that the guard was just doing his job?

I can't stand it when people just do their jobs. :whatever:

I thought it was common for people to take things off of their heads when they come inside. I take off my sunglasses, take off my hood, etc. Maybe it was the public school system that made it habit for me.

Sounds like you were the @$$hole in this situation. You know there's a group of kids stealing $#!t in your town and that they all were hoodies. Would it have been such a problem to take off your hood? You weren't being stereotyped, you wore an article of clothing that fit a stereotype.

Agreed.

No, you don't understand. See, all the thieves wear NIKE clothing. LW was not.

Jesus, learn to read. :cmad:

Agreed.

You were Criminal-profiled. If you go to the bank, wearing a hat, sunglasses, and/or a hoodie or some combination thereof, and they refuse to serve you... would you have the same reaction?

A gentleman would remove the hood, go about your business, and then put it back on when you left. Management can refuse to serve anybody, as a store is private property, accessible to the general public until they become unwanted.

If it was worth it, so be it.

Let's all go protest the injustice by marching in the streets wearing hoodies... Even though it's summer and 100 degrees outside.

I've been asked to remove my hat in a bank on more than one occasion. I felt that they were violating my rights. I mean, so what if it makes video surveillance about a million times more difficult? Screw them.

Actually, I was asked to remove my hat on two occasions. Each time I promptly removed it, and realized that they usually have a sign that states that you must remove caps, hoods, etc. to receive service. So it hasn't ever really been an issue since.

lol, you got kicked out of a toy store :wow: I bet he wanted to make fun of you^^

This post cracked me up!!! LMAO

Yup. He got yelled at for looking shady. Like the guard cares that you werent wearing a Nike hoodie. :whatever:

Jesus, learn to read. :cmad:

Oh yeah, I'm such a moron. The security guard really should have asked the brand of clothing, "Oh, it's not Nike, sorry to have bothered you sir"

Funny that LW probably made this thread thinking he'd get a lot of sympathy and people on his side, but instead everone is seeing him as the @$$hole.

Too bad Ice-man wasn't online, he'd back LW up.

No, I'd rob them for profiling me. Then they'd learn...

I think you are missing the point here.
Just because certain people where a hood,
should that mean we all can't now?

I really hope scumbags here don't start wearing
shirts and ties next, might mean I can't wear them next.

Let's not forget I was wearing shorts and a transformers t-shirt.

At what point did I say I was looking for sympathy?
Oh you are right, I am a @$$hole, I'm thinking of
beating the **** of out some kids tomorrow.

Big differance between a bank and a toy store.:whatever:

My dumbass sister always wears her huge sunglasses inside. Am I the only one who finds that sort of rude?

Let's not forget I was wearing shorts and a transformers t-shirt.

I'm thinking that you driving this point home is pointless. You were still wearing a hood and all you had to do was take it off of your head. A hoodie is a hoodie, and I doubt anyone will care what brand it was. &&If a guy wearing a NIKE hoodie walked in at the same time that you did, I'd hope the guard wouldn't just ask him to remove his hoow and allow you to wear yours just because you were wearing a TRANSFORMERS t-shirt.

"That guy just stole something!"

"Did you get a good look at his face?"

"No! He was wearing a hood..."

"Was it a NIKE hood?"

"No..."

"Okay then, I'll let you slide this time, just because it wasn't NIKE."

:whatever:
