For any veteran Linux user out there, how on earth can you get Ubuntu to recognize a joystick (specifically an old-school Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro)? I've installed the default Ubuntu joystick driver package and the calibration package but thanks to the obtuse way Ubuntu handles adding joysticks I have no idea why its not working.
Any help would be appreciated.
