Joel Silver's Dark Castle is developing I Saw What You Did, a remake of the 1965 William Castle-directed I Saw What You Did and I Know Who You Are!

According to Variety, Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer of My Bloody Valentine 3D will write and Lussier will direct.

The original film, which starred Joan Crawford, was based on the Ursula Curtis novel "Out of the Dark" and revolved around two girls who innocently pass the time making prank phone calls to unsuspecting people until they call the wrong guy.

The new movie will be produced by Silver, Andrew Rona and Steve Richards. Dark Castle will finance and distribute through Warner Bros.

I'd rather see a sequel to MBV like they said they were, but Lionsgate is being jerks even though it took in a good amount of money, close to 50 million domestic for a 3d slasher film.

The sequel must be called "I Saw What You Did There" or else don't even make it at all.

When I'm talking about sequels I mean a My Bloody Valentine Sequel. Not the I saw what you did movie.

EXCL: Farmer on I Saw What You Did Redo

Overnight, the Hollywood trades announced Dark Castle is making progress on its I Saw What You Did remake by attaching director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer. The pair met and worked together on the January release My Bloody Valentine 3D.

I Saw What You Did takes Dark Castle back to its roots in some respects. When the company first started under the supervision of Warner Bros. and Joel Silver, it aimed to remake William Castle's library.

The film is the first Castle redo since House on Haunted Hill and Thirteen Ghosts. I Saw What You Did (released in '65 as I Saw What You Did and I Know Who You Are!) was also remade once already in '88 with Fred Walton (April Fool's Day) at the helm.

Dark Castle's update - produced by Silver, Andrew Rona and Steve Richards - will find Lussier and Farmer tackling a story about two girls who innocently pass the time making prank phone calls to unsuspecting people until they call the wrong guy.

"Patrick and I had a blast working together MBV3D and I think that passion comes across on screen," Farmer tells us. "As a result we talked about partnering on future projects. When we started bouncing ideas for I Saw What You Did it just clicked. I realize he looks like he just won a Noble Prize and I look like I just killed a man, but we share the same vision. We finish each other's sentences. And when we don't agree one or the other will give in because nothing kills the tension in a movie faster than a big ol' slice of vanilla compromise. But in the end it's all in the material. We found a twisted way into the William Castle story that both respects its Hitchcockian roots and accelerates it in a new direction. And if that isn't enough, then the simple fact that Rona and Lussier are together again is worth the price of a ticket and popcorn."

We'll have more on the film as things develop. Keep your eyes peel to Shock!

This film doesn't even deserve attention. At all.

See helping when you're not even trying.

Not those people who Pay to go see one of those "movie movies" to seek in to see a R rated movie.

I'm always game for the William Castle remakes. Curious to see what they change.
