Vin Diesel Could Become The Last Witch Hunter for Breck Eisner

Why the **** are Elijah Wood and Michael Caine in this? Like, really, guys?

Michael Caine is friends with Vin Diesel. Old British actors love Vin Diesel for some weird reason. Dame Judi Dench and Helen Mirren are also Diesel lovers.

Looks like no one wants to see Vin Diesel in anything besides Fast and Furious movies.

I'll stand by Vin. Always stood by Keanu too. Cool guys, and I'll never have a problem watching them in leading roles.

Diesel just needs the write script and director to exploit his talents.

Breck Eisner is not that director.

Yeah and movies like this are just a hard sell and should never cost more than 40 million dollars to make because they are almost never wildly success. The Underworld franchise survives because they films don't cost 80-90million to make. Vin Diesel or anyone hunting witches is not exactly the most interesting idea ever.

I didn't go to this one .
It looked like a very serious version of Men In Black swapping witches for aliens with very little humor.

This one looked like dog's bollocks the more I saw of it. Not sure why you wanted to bring out the Underworld/Blade crowds with a $90 million budget. But even boring financial crap aside, it always looked like a rental. I'm just glad Ridley Scott is kicking everyones ass really.

And Riddick.

I'll admit that I laughed when I saw the guy with the beard doing magic in the first few trailers. He does NOT look imposing at all.

Maybe if he'd had a goatee that was clearly his or something sure, but the whole get up looked stupid.

The movie lacked a certain charm or energy needed for such a premise. To this day, Julian Sands' Warlock remains the best witch-hunting film.

This was not a *good* movie, but I ended up enjoying it nonetheless. It was dopey, popcorn viewing.

Also, and I hate to say this, Vin is showing his age a bit. Not to say that he looks like an old man or anything.

Don't hate saying it too much. Women get that long in the tooth comment at 32-35 years old not 48 like Vin Diesel is. Lucky, lucky him.

And Riddick.

Not really. Riddick has kept going only because Universal wants to keep Diesel happy and he and David Twohy are smart enough to keep them cheaply produced.

I do kinda admire how Diesel insists on turning himself into a one-stop franchise. Fast and Guardians aren't enough, no. Keep pushing Riddick and will properties like The Last Witch Hunter and Kojak into existence too. Smart enough to know "the movie star" as we know it doesn't exist anymore, with the exception of DiCaprio.

I'm not sure how $100 million worldwide for a September released R rated sci fi doesn't show he's got some drawing ability. Last Witch Hunter may have changed that, but we'll see.

Vin should only concentrate on Riddick franchise and F&F. I don't know why he makes crap like this. He was at the WB after party at the Golden Globes no doubt trying to get another crappy franchise off the ground...maybe. But his movies do make money lately.

My review

This movie wasn't I, Frankenstein bad. It is Blade with witches instead of vampires. Even the twists are similar to the twists in the Blade movies.

The visuals and mythology are great but the story is nothing special.

It is pretty obvious Michael Caine is in this as a favour to Vin Diesel. Caine does the wise mentor/friend trope.

Joe Gilgun's Irish accent was pretty good which makes his casting as Cassidy in Preacher even more promising.
