Same prinicipal as the Blockbuster threads from last summer, just name 3 selections and then I'll count the noms up and pair them into rounds. I didn't think this needed to be a decade by decade deal so your picks can be from any decade! :)

The Bourne Supremacy - Moscow Chase

The Matrix Reloaded - Freeway Chase

The French Connection - Train Chase

The French Connection

The Seven Ups - incredibly underrated car chase that is overlooked. Look it up on YouTube

Terminator 2 - The Aquaduct Chase

The Blues Brothers - Police Chase Through The Mall

Gone In 60 Seconds - Eleanor Chase

Figured I’d switch up with a couple here that might not be expected or were forgotten. But had to of course go with the T2 classic. Also can we nominate Fury Road just the entire film as one big badass chase :funny:

I think I'll go with these 3 to mix it up a bit!

Ferrari vs Hummer; San Francisco Chase - The Rock

Morroco Chase - Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

Freeway Chase - Bad Boys II

Damn, I saw this and got excited expecting a Wacky Races live-action film.

Paris Chase - Ronin

Tanker Truck Chase - The Road Warrior

Rooftop/Freeway Chase - Batman Begins

I was tempted to put down Fury Road, but that would basically be the whole movie.

Blues Brothers 2000 - cars end up in a huge pile
Lethal Weapon 4 - car jumps off a motorway bridge, goes through a building and ends up at the motorway again
Pretty much whole Cannonball Run film (with Moore, Reynolds etc)

Then we have some Bonds:
LALD - The prolonged car and boat chase
TMWTGG - Bond chases Scaramanga, flipping the car around
TSWLM - Bond's car turns out to be a submarine
FYEO - Bond drives a Citroen 4cv
NSNA - Bond's motorcycle has a rocket engine
Octopussy - Bond's car get four flat tires, and he decides to chase a train by driving on the railway tracks
AVTAK - Bond hijacks a taxi in Paris and wrecks it to pieces
LTK - Bond drives a big truck

Good to see a variety of choices, just need a few more to make up 4 quater finals.

I'm gonna make the tournemant brackets tomorrow, so last chance to make any more noms! :)

Ronin - Paris scene.
The French Connection
The Spy Who Loved Me - The Lotus Esprit suddenly going under water as a submarine.

Bullitt. Hands down.

  • Ronin
  • The French Connection
  • The Bourne Identity
*Supposedly the car chase in the French Connection was filmed without a permit

There's only 5 chases with more than 1 nomination, 6 depending on @Broseph44 answer, so I'm going to put the others into a Battle Royale poll for the final 3 (or 2) slots.

The French Connection

The Seven Ups - incredibly underrated car chase that is overlooked. Look it up on YouTube

Agreed, great chase sequence, I think it's underrated as the movie isn't very well known.

Just to clarify, is this Blues Brothers chase the same one as @Airwings nominated?

I'm pretty sure that's correct, I remember either reading about it or seeing it on a 'Making Of' featurette.

I don’t think so. I’m talking about Blues Brothers the original film. He is apparently talking about the sequel with John Goodman because he said Blues Brothers 2000. But he said the car chase where all the cars pile up. And that happens in the original Blues Brothers film with a lot of police cars. So unless he is talking about another scene.

But no my scene isn’t the same as his. I can’t post the scene here due to some language haha.

Thanks man, I didn't realize there was two Blues Brothers movies until I saw the "2000" bit, I'll have to throw both into the battle royale! :D
