Was mysterious jellyfish in sky caused by space satellite reflecting Northern Lights?

So you're saying the aliens are radioactive then?

Maybe if it looked like this:

Kind of looks like Green Lantern's space station from Kingdom Come.

Wait....a satelite looks like a itty bitty star from the ground. How the hll would a itty biddt thing make that?

I have no idea what I am talking about :awesome:

It's really not that hard to believe when you understand how the borealis is formed.

Basically, when the sun sends a solar flare our way, the planet is protected by the magnetic field.

You can see in the illustration where the flare's energy is "trapped" momentarily near the poles. That's what you see when you look at the Aurora Borealis

You WOULD be that guy, wouldn't you?

Aha! That's my jellyfish, Barry. He escaped from his tank last week and I've been looking for him everywhere. Looks like he's been having a marvelous adventure.

Sorry for the confusion guys.

That's not an alien. It's just the reflection off of my trapper keeper.

On the Close-ups, if you tilt your had to the right, it looks like ET.

****ing space entities. Probably wants to eat our planet until someone can establish communication and show it that we're sentient..

Someone hail the Enterprise.
Spock here.
We will investigate all possible extraterrestrial influence on the so-called "Jellyfish" phenomenon in the Earth's upper atmosphere, as per request.

^:shock:shock:shock
Maybe it's the Jellyfish ship from the movie!!!

Illogical.
if it is cause by extraterrestrial beings (which I doubt) their are only two explanations that I find have even a semblance of logic.
1. It's a communication.
In this case, why wouldn't they communicate with the federation openly?
2. It's an act of war.
As the earth felt no ill effects we must assume it was a weapons test.
If it was a known race, they wouldn't be so conspicous.
If it was an unknown race, they are probably more advanced then we are, an are confident that we cannot defeat them, even if we find them. However, if they are so confident, why don't they attack us with a weapon that doesn't need testing? That would be the logical route. Unless, we are caught in the midst of war going on between two unknown races, one of whom is using Earth as a testing ground for their WMDs? An interesting possibility.
