I always thought the best way to go would be a FiveSeven (or two) and a P90. Very little kickback and they use the same ammo so you could just stock up on it before the apocalypse.

Any of the combo weapons from the Dead Rising games couldn't go wrong.

A 357 revolver wouldn't be so bad to have.
Rick has that Colt Python, which if parts were needed might be more difficult to come by since they were discontinued awhile back. So maybe a more modern and popular model in that caliber.

But the revolver is easier to clean and when it comes to scavenging you could use 38 special bullets if you found them as well.
