I've been rewatching the X-Men trilogy (well, mainly the first two Singer films), and a random thought I had was that I miss the Kamen theme. It's wonderfully dark and almost romantic-sounding. I still love the Ottman theme and think they're both brilliantly complimentary to one another, but I still miss that original Kamen theme. I think the Kamen theme is one that symbolises the genesis of the X-Men, whereas Ottman's score signifies their evolution into a fully formed superhero team, even if, despite the subtitle 'X-Men United', the team actually breaks down during X2, what with Cyclops becoming brainwashed, Xavier manipulated, and Jean ultimately dying.
