Yes, I scoff at Fantastic Four and Batman Forever's meager $100,000,000 budgets.

Oh, poor people; you amuse me to no end.

It's interesting to note that horror films most benefit from having smaller budgets. Seriously, how many big budget horror films are actually good? Money KILLS horror films. Horror films and Comedies.

The lower the budget, the more creative everyone has to be.

and not sure what constitutes a low budget? under 100mil,under 50mil?
Nowadays most movies are 100mil plus or close to it. Will agree the lower budget movies have to rely on creativity to be good, and sometimes they do a damn good job..

a REAL low budget movie and probably one of the best I've ever seen, is Primer. Made for just $7000, it looks and feels amazingly professional.

Good question, and not an easy one to answer. I'd probably say anything under $15,000,000 which sounds pretty low until you stop and realize that most movies AREN'T huge $200,000,000 affairs, that's only the big blockbuster films. In fact of all top 10 films this week, only The Golden Compass cost more than 80 million, the rest range anywhere from 20 to 75 million.

Of course if you're dealing with older movies you also have to adjust for inflation and then it.... gets kind of messy.

Clerks
Brick
Evil Dead 1 and 2 (army of darkness wasnt THAT lowbudget)
Chasing Amy

Every movie is fake.... Except, mostly, for documentaries... mostly.

Reservoir Dogs, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, Clerks, and El Mariachi.

Clerks was good, Reservoir Dogs was great, and brick was awsome too.
I think the first Saw was low budget, i love that whole franchise.
