Why'd they not do another season? I read when it first came on that it had Spike's highest tv ratings for a piolet ever.

Still that's not saying much. I mean it is Spike TV after all. :cwink:

Spike didn't want to put money into it because they are cheap bastards who show crap. Blade was getting better and better with each episode.

It was getting better and better???????

Debatable

Yeah, it's pretty much Spike being cheap. Lot of money to be made off reruns and sports I guess...Blade was a pretty decent show though. They should have at least killed Van Sciver in the series finale.

I always thought the show was pretty good, but then, I enjoyed the fact that Blade himself wasn't the focus of attention every episode. The show was about more than one man, and that was a pulling point for me.

Does anyone know if it's out on DVD anywhere?

Blade, another victim of overinflated expectations. Really what was Spike expecting from this show, it was on Spike TV!

Spike TV sucks.
It started out like crap, but the show got better and better with each episode.

It did get better, but IMO it never really got good. A big problem was that the guy playing Blade was just horrible. Through the show's whole run.

I watched part of the first episode. Then I read up about it during a commercial break and how the series picks up after the third Blade movie.

Since I have no intention of ever seeing Blade:Trinity, I changed the channel

You might not have been around the Hype at that time. There were a lot of angry fans, there were a few threads about it and the Blade sub-forum was taken down.

I had only seen a few episodes, I didn't think it was that bad.

Meh, crappy character gets a crappy show.
But the series was just as much about Krista and Marcus as it was about Blade. That's what kept me watching. They were infinitely more interesting and complicated characters.

^Not to mention it had a great finale.

I am sure the show was just too costly for Spike TV. The show did get better over time, but not enough people waited around to see it. Another problem was that for those fans who were familiar with Wesley, they had a real hard time accepting Sticky in the role of Blade.

I said it once and will keep saying it if this show was on FX or HBO we would be getting a second season.

Yeah, but it started to get to a point were you almost forgot the show was about Blade, and was more about Krista.

^^I agree with you there but I still think the series was good and Sticky was getting better and better as Blade as the show went on. I really hope FX or HBO picks up the series like how HBO did with Rome. I mean Rome was on NBC or something like that and got pulled HBO picked it up and turned it into something great.

Rome was NEVER on NBC. Your talking about 'Empire'. It was a Rome like show, that aired and was pulled right before Rome aired on HBO. Rome was made exclusively for HBO and the BBC.

Spike ****in sucks.

I started to really get into the show, an' next thing you know they cancel the damn thing, only to keep time for repeating their ****in repeats of other shows all over and over again. :down

Funny thing though, Sticky said that Blade would be able to kick Luke Cage's ass anyday, and that Sticky himself would be the one laughin in the end.

Yeah, well, guess who's laughin now :o
