How do you define the universe?

And how do you think it came to be?

everything that exists in the psyical realm. and god created it.

It is the f-ing new year bro. Chill out bro!

Here we go again :funny:

I fear this may go the way of the evolution thread...

I think that The Universe and its similar concepts (eternity and life after death, first and foremost) is incomprehensible to the human mind, and that only those who become so obsessed with trying to comprehend it to its fullest would literally drive themselves insane- or at least humanity's definition of insane.

I was about to comment on that, but decided not to. These threads always end up the same, unfortunately.

Literally, the word "universe" breaks down as such:

Uni - "single"

Verse: "spoken sentence"

So therefore, we're all living in a "single spoken sentence"...cool, huh? :D

Oh here we go, Rod Flanders has just arrived. Now, where's Todd?

For all our luck it's a damn run-on sentence with a dangling participle

Whatever it is, it's easily beyond our comprehension....which means that religion could be..

So large that a form of torture could actually just be showing someone the entire universe with a tiny arrow that says, "You are here."

The universe is simply too large and too complex for me to fathom. Life on earth is complex enough without considering the infinite.

I believe like all things in space, the universe is spherical, a never ending sphere that is constantly expanding. Is there an edge to the universe? No because like all planets I am sure gravity or some other mechanism keeps you at a constant curve to where it appears that you are going in a straight line.

That's what my girlfriend's dad told me... That if we were to travel to the end of the universe, we would end up right back where we started.

In a parallel dimension? In the same one? Are there even dimensions? Who knows? As I said... We can't comprehend it, and it would drive us mad if we could. However, it is something I would love to understand.

The universe is not too complex to fathom. It's everything. There. I fathomed it.
