What is this obsession with planking?

When I see this I just ask myself WTF is wrong with society.

I have to restrain myself from jumping on them, hitting them or the like.

At first, I thought it was kinda funny, but a month ago it seems a few people blew it out of proportion and now everyone seems to plank now. Most of the ones I see now are so boring and stupid. One day, I saw a girl planking on a park bench with her whole body covering the bench. LAME.

Personally, I like when people plank on things that really challenges their bodies to balance on the thing they're planking on. Honestly, it just gives me a quick laugh but other than that, it's pretty dumb.

Ah, so it was some stupid hipster thing that went mainstream. Just one more reason why hipsters suck.

I don't know if we can blame hipsters for this. I haven't seen a lot of skinny jeans, untucked Hugo dress shirts and ironic trucker caps in these photos.
