I've been to 3 relatively large comic book conventions. People selling everything from Star Wars to Dungeons & Dragons. I'll cut to the chase...
I'm noticing a weird trend. One of my friends, my brothers, and my father have noticed this as well. And I observed this behavior when strangers have walked by displays. So I know it's not just me.
The people selling things are either: A) Total social cripples who look at you like an idiot if you have a legit question about anything they're selling (or a lot of the times if you so much as say "Hey there!"). B) Extremely sociable and accomodating... and C? Well, there is no C. That's the weird thing.
I have a suggestion to anyone wanting to come to a comic convention and sell things: WORK ON YOUR GOD DAMN SOCIAL SKILLS! Because, you know, you might actually get more sales that way, and the convention itself will have a better rep next time. Imagine that.
Has anyone else ran into this problem or is it native only to my area?
