City inspectors, armed with citation books, will cruise the streets ready to pounce if they find a sprinkler operating illegally. Neighbors will be encouraged to rat each other out for watering on the wrong day. Helicopters will hover above farms and golf courses, taking satellite coordinates of pumps operating in violation of water-shortage orders.

This is the new era of water restrictions. It begins next Thursday, when rules approved by the South Florida Water Management District take effect.

Now that would be a scary thought.

That is stupid as hell, yet funny as hell.

Wait...This is in Florida... a state with water on 3/4 of it's border. I bet all the old people are gonna be angry.

I meant as far as water restrictions go. There are much bigger problems to deal with here.

I dont think that will happen, this is the great lakes state after all.

This happened in one of my firends neighborhoods in highschool. It was the ridiculously rich part of town, and his dad got a $2,500 because his sprinklers shot into the street a little bit. I can't imagine a whole state like that.

That's exactly what I have to deal with.
I can only use my hose every other day. It's a crock of ****.

What gave rise to such law? Is there a water shortage problem?

this is actually pretty common when there's a water shortage. oooo, so you can't use sprinklers, big deal. Some parts of the world (and not just the developing world) you can only take showers certain days of the week.

Most of the south-east gets like that from spring onwards. Massive water shortages in this country are caused by victorian water pipes crubling away and leaking millions of gallons of water that was supposed to be going elsewhere.

This has happened in California during water shortages, when the population cannot regulate itself, the government does. If this is a big deal to you, you need to re-evaluate what is important to you.

Scientists claim we will go to war over water in the next century, because of "global warming". More drought where people migrate to because of higher sea level, less snow ice where we get most of our drinking water from. I think it is a possibility.

What do you think?

Not sure, but there are tose who do not need a reason to go to war.
