What's Black and White and....Black and White

Is there any name for the special effect in the Sin City comics/movie where the characters and inanimate objects are almost pure white while the backgrounds are black? Just wondering.

I don't think there is--the only movie I've seen that had a color style completely true to Sin City--the all white and black--was Reneanusause or something like that (sci-fi/mystery starring Daniel Crieg), and that was just doing all animation.
