Ultimately, who do you predict will be the Republican and Democratic nomines?

Hillary has more money than anyone. Republican is up in the air. Primaries tend to go really conservative so Rudy is out and McCain could have a hard time. I expect someone thats thus far under the radar.

I nominate Bugs Bunny...even a bigger looney toon than Hillary! Go Bugs!

For the Democrats, it's either going to be Hillary or Obama.

The Republicans is a toss up. It's going to go down between the moderate Rudy Giuliani and the conservative John McCain.

Giuliani is going to win several primaries such as Northeast and the West Coast which house the more moderate Republicans.

McCain is making peace with the neo-cons and will win his home state of Arizona and most of the South.

In my opinion, it's all going to lie down on the Mid-West states and the increasingly becoming moderate Virginia that will chose between them.

For the Democrats, I hope it's Obama. Hillary is the most smug, distant and uncharismatic candidate in years. Obama may not initially come off as very experienced, but he's supposedly one of if not the smartest Harvard graduates since JFK, he's very open and friendly with the public, and he supposedly has a pretty solid Health Care plan. The only thing he needs to work on is becoming more centered. Other than that (plus the fact that he should quit smoking), Barrack should easily take the nomination.

As for the Republicans, if they had any sense, they'd go for Rudy. He's the best shot they have. He's a moderate who is one of the few Republicans who is still well respected. The fact that he's liberal on a lot of issues will definitely help him. I like McCain, but a lot of people I know are a bit iffy on him.

Democrats- Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama or John Edwards.

Republicans - No clue. Theres no way in hell they'll give it to Rudy Giuliani. I mean come on, the guys Italian, from NYC, been married 3 times, hes pro-choice, hes marched in a gay pride parade, he has mob connections(his father) in his past... No WAY a guy like him will ever be the nominee from the Republican party. Nope.

IMO the Repubs have a really week field this time and the Dems have a really strong one. McCain is a has-been IMO, Giuliani won't motivate the base, Mitt Romney's recent turn from social liberal to conservative is too little too late and nobody else is even really worth mentioning.

On the other hand the Dems have Hillary Clinton and while I don't like her she'd have a shot at winning, they have Barack Obama, they have John Edwards AND Bill Richardson(one of the most underrated politicians in the nation).

Experience doesn't matter too much. Hell Dick Cheney had one of the best resumes in Washington and look where he got us.

McCain is a punk. After the smear job the Bushistas did against him back in 2000 he is a sorry, sorry coward for laying down for them the last couple of years. Hes not NEARLY as moderate as his image holds him to be either, the guy is quite right wing overall. The "Straight Talk Express" took a detour through Bull****sville.

It's far too soon that Rudy will not or will get the nomination. McCain and Giuliani are basically the only known candidates with Romney trailing behind them. The others are complete unknowns that have no shot at all.

At the moment, Giuliani is in the lead of the polls for the New Hampshire primaries and has filed for a state of candidacy because his "testing the waters" recieved good responses.

Howard Dean was an unknown before his campaign kicked off - and though he did not win, he sure got close.

I know all this. However, whoever the nominee is won't get it without support in the heartland, and conservatives from the interor will not go for Giulani. They just won't.

They will vote for Guiliani before they vote for Obama or Hillary.

Its not exactly as if Guiliani is running against a Reagan-type conservative in McCain. Chances are McCain and Romney split the the midwest (the very conservative states go to Romney, the lesser ones to McCain). Guiliani wins the west and the east and Florida. McCain wins most of the south.

You know I really have a feeling it will be a dark horse candidate that gets the GOP nomination, not McCain or Giuliani, the "frontrunners". Someone like Romney, or maybe even Mike Huckabee.

I really don't think the Republicans will win in '08, thats what I'm convinced of more than anything. They have a weak candidate field and a HORRIBLE political climate toward the GOP to deal with, as well as the fatigue factor. After 8 years of a Republican Presidency the nation will naturally be very open to a change.

I think it's too early to tell. I mean, John Kerry was kind of a middle-of-the-packer in the early goings of the '04 election. Hilary and Obama seem like the most likely candidates, but who knows?

The Republicans, I think, will pass on Guiliani and McCain. It's so fun to watch McCain kiss GOP ass 24/7 in an attempt to get back on their good side. They're just gonna let him go around spewing pro-Bush crap while they dangle that nomination in front of him, even know they'll never give it to him.

I agree with this 100%.

i'd like it to come down to obama and guiliani....they seem to be the only 2 respectable choices....which means neither of them will get it....

Stewart/Colbert in '08!!!!!

just deal with it people.:o

I must say the republicans have done a bang up job demonizing Hillary Clinton. Everyone hates the woman for the dumbest reasons.

Anyways, Clinton vs McCain in 2008.

I think the whole world is praying republicans don't get in again. They have have done more damage to the image of the USA than any goverment has in the last 100 years.:csad:

I hope this doesn't come off sounding racist, and it not my intention, but I don't think that middle America is ready for Obama. Sad but true, race is a factor to some people still. And I don't think those same people would except Clinton either. I think the best ticket for the Dems Edwards/Obama.

With the stuff that's gone on with the Bushes and the stuff that will come out by the election, the race is the Dems race to lose. All they need is someone likable and the right people behind them.

And once again don't start beating me up over the race thing.

I think most of the reason why people don't like Hillary is because she has zero Charisma. If she had 1/4 of her husband's charm, she'd have a much better chance.

But honestly, she comes off as cold, uncaring and very unlikable.

Never work his view on gun control is to strong.

Plus he dresses like woman.

The republicans would eat that up.
