Where do you buy your food?

Where do you obtain foodstuffs?

  • A popular national chain (Whole Foods, Target, etc.)

  • A smaller local supermarket

  • A tiny mom and pop general store type establishment

  • The local gas station

  • I kill for meat and forage for berries - shopping is for pansies

  • I just go to the kitchen and food is magically there

Do you prefer to go to a popular chain, a small mom and pop type thing, or do you just mix it up? There is a local chain I go to sometimes, but they don't always have the crap I want, so I end up having to go to Target or something, which is a 15 min. drive from my place. :argh:

My bf has this quasi-religious devotion to Whole Foods, so that's where we usually shop during the weekend when he's here. :funny:

I usually go to Albertson's or Ralph's for regular grocery things. (I still have a massive amount of gift cards to go through for both, when I took advantage of the tax time promotion.) I'm also lucky enough to have a farmer's market every week in my neighborhood, because I'm a spoiled brat and I refuse to buy peaches and strawberries from any stores, even Whole Foods. They're soooo much yummier from a farmer's market. :awesome: Cheaper too, ESPECIALLY compared to Whole Foods. Win/win! :word:

I've also been making my own bread and yogurt. :awesome:

I tend to shop at numerous places. I tend to be a bit of a deal shopper when it comes to groceries.

I try to shop mostly at local places, but sometimes I'm just not able to and it's off to Wal-Mart. Vile place that it may be.

I shop at either Giant, or Safeway most of the time.

I order online from Vons and have it delivered and go to Ralph's for those things that I don't get from Vons.

Publix! Nothing beats their baked goods, deli, and they make some killer subs!

I mostly go to any place that's close to me, the 99 cent stores are good for mostly toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper, school supplies.

Publix mostly, but I also tend to buy several other items that are pricier there at Target.

I usually go to Lucky and Safeway for general groceries, local corner stores whenever I want sweets or alcohol, and 7-11 if it's really late at night or I want some coffee on the road.

I usually go to Wal-Mart for my grocery shopping, if it's little stuff then I just go to 7-11 or buy something at work.

I just go to the kitchen and the food is magically there :p. My fiancé handles our food requirements and she buys it in different specialist markets.

A supermarket! Imagine that! Excellent question.

local chain "Eurofresh Market" and if cereal isn't on sale there then Walmart for that

I buy my groceries at the ONLY grocery store in my COUNTY... Food Lion.

It's not a national chain, but a regional chain of grocery stores.
But for anything else or special stuff I have to drive 25-30 miles to the closest city.

It is a toss-up. My wife and i shop where ever the mood strikes us at the time. Sometimes it is Walmart just because it is easier, Aldi's because it is so cheap, or a local chain called Giant Eagle for the fuel and food perks. Giant Eagle also has the better meat department and produce. I am not really tied down to any one store though.

I go to Food Lion, Walmart, or gas station.

I was surprised that Food Lion wasn't national, and just a big Southern Chain.

There sure are a lot of southern hypesters. Food Lion and Safeway are regular stops for me too for groceries. I try to avoid the devil that is WalMart, but sometimes you have to go there.

I mostly shop at BJ's. I have to buy wholesale cause my kids eat me outta house and home!!:argh:
