I know he was tricked into losing control of his company. But, that should not have affected his personal fortune. Also, even when he was shown to be broke. Thea had money.

Was this ever mentioned?

Basically, they have as much money as the plot needs them to have these days. If you wanted to find out how or where they get it, you would have to ask Raisa.

Actually, the Queen fortune's gone. Whenever they need money it was Merlyn's via Thea (in S3) and Felicity's (in S4). I don't think S5's gone into where they get money but then both Oliver and Thea work now, and Ragman has a job, so we can assume Curtis and Rene might, also (maybe even Evelyn, but she might be too young).

You have a better memory than me.

Thanks. I figured it was gone or just not mentioned. But, I am curious how its gone.

They lost it at the end of season two. It was a part of Slade's master plan to ruin Oliver's life.

From what I remember being told, from the way it was explained in the show, the Queens either shouldn't have lost their fortune at all (at least not to the point of being literally broke) or should've been able to reclaim it with relative ease.

Not like it matters either way, because the loss of fortune hasn't really had much of an impact on Oliver, Thea, Team Arrow, or any of their activities. The only major difference I saw was that Oliver started wearing suits more infrequently.

Yeah, the answer boils down to "it vanished in a puff of plot-illogic". Best not to think about it, that was easily the worst plot point in season 2.

I think Oliver should win a Mega Million Lotto...

I'm pretty sure he gets a decent salary as the Mayor.

Well, decent-ish. The city is theoretically falling into chaos and ruin.

What is Felicity's job now?

Wasnt she kicked out of Palmer Tech by the board?

They somehow lost the Queen family fortune, including all personal assets like Moira's jewellery, cars, etc (which they otherwise should have kept and been able to sell).

Then Thea inherited Malcolm Merlyn's millions / billions, but I'm not sure what happened to all that money. It's not clear whether Thea doesn't like using it because it's Malcolm's money and therefore only uses it in "emergencies" or whether Malcolm somehow stole it from Thea (although as head of the LOA, he would presumably have access to plenty of funds or the means to obtain funds if needed).

As others have said, whether or not Oliver personally has money or access to lots of money just depends upon the needs of the script from week to week. It's a problem across all of the CW shows. On The Flash, Wells left his fortune to Barry, yet Barry was living at home and then with Cisco instead of living in Wells' mansion or his own apartment. Similarly, Cisco and Caitlin apparently still get paid by Barry, but Barry won't rebuild STAR Labs. And Supergirl has a HUGE apartment, despite earning what would be a relatively low wage as a trainee journalist (unless Cat Grant paid her really well and she purchased her apartment).

Being fair, Barry actually has good character reasons for why he'd still be living at home ( personal relationship issues ), and not physically rebuilding STAR labs ( they aren't really using it in that manner ). Plus, its easy to No-Prize it as "Almost all the inherited assets end up being spent on facilities upkeep and operational costs". But even that isn't necessary, because "Barry the Unrealizing Billionaire" works fine.

( Supergirl's apartment, I just call "TV apartment laws". Lots of people have improbably big abodes on TV. )
