Which company has the best comic book shows?

I fail to see how AOS is similar to DD or Jessica Jones to Luke Cage or iron Fist. if anything the CW shows are more guilty of a "formula" with a the hero building a team around him and the villain of the week format.

Yes AOS is different than the others but the Netflix shows are similar. Either they're super powered people who get pulled into fighting other super powered people like Cage and Jones or they're ninjas who get pulled into fighting other ninjas. Yes DC has the same formula but they have different tones and subject matter. Legends of Tomorrow has a completely different tone and subject matter than the others and vice versa. It's not just the CW shows either, there's Gotham, iZombie, Lucifer, and even Powerless.

DD is a action show about corruption. JJ is a neo-noir psychological drama about abuse and Luke cage is a modern western about community. I don't see how the subject matter is the same. AOS is a spy show about normal people in extraordinary situations. The superopowered people vs super-powered people is not the core of the shows and even if it was CW do it way more often. i have no opinion on Lucifer or izombie since i haven't watched them.

Subject matter was the wrong wording. They have the same season arcs. They've got to take down an untouchable villain like Fisk abd Cottonmouth or they have to fight someone who is obsessed with them and they have to prove those villains exist like Kilgrave and Diamondback or they have to fight the Hand. Even if the CW shows have similar season arcs that's not the point. It's either way it's between a package of four shows with the same season arcs and one show that doesn't (two since we're counting Legion) or a package of three shows with the same season arc and six shows that don't. For me, variety wins.

The stakes are completely different in each show. Iron Fist wanted to save his company, DD his city, Jessica herself and Luke Harlem. meanwhile Barry is fighting a speedster who threatens the city every year, Green Arrow fights a villain that threatens the city EVERY damn year and Supergirl is fighting Kryptonians who want to destroy the world or the city...

I think the Marvel TV shows are technically better but I tend to enjoy the TV DC shows more with a few exceptions. That being said, I enjoy both quite a bit and can't wait for more.

If Preacher, IZombie, Lucifer count as DC shows then DC.

Arrow viewers will have already seen those stakes as arcs throughout the seasons
(saving his company/business, himself, a section of that city ~ the impoverished one, his city in general).
The reason the first season of The Flash works as well as it does because he's learning how to be a speedster from the very evil he's trying to take vengeance. In the finale, he didn't do what he planned to do ever since he learned time travel even after defeating the same enemy in the present.
I'm told Supergirl got more political; that whole allegory of immigrants
The Legends of Tomorrow piece the world back together whenever an anomaly strikes (even something as small as forgetting Star Wars) or going on an artifact/missing person(s) hunt, as they deal with their issues (related to those anomalies and otherwise).

In any case, after the first 2 of Arrow and the 1st of The Flash, I've since preferred the other DC/Vertigo shows which only pale in comparison to Legion.
I look forward to The Defenders (mostly because it's short) and will give AoS another shot last I dropped.
