My dream cast for MJ is still Margot Robbie. She's the total package and could really bring the classic 616 MJ to life. I also really like the very underappreciated Kaya Scodelario.

I'd be okay with Woodley returning. Wouldn't be excited, but wouldn't hate it either.

If they do bring Shailene Woodley back, they need to not do what they were doing.

Hopefully, they abandon most of their plans for the character. I don't care if they want to turn her into a mechanic in her spare time (even though Orci and Kurtzman pulled that right out of their Transformers bag of ideas), but certain things like her obsession with Spidey (Spider-tattoo?) and Spidey intervening with her abusive father are ill-conceived.

As for her look, I'm beginning to sense stereotypical tomboy based on this version's interests.

I don't see why the writers would have trouble translating MJ to the screen. Even the best young actress in the world can't make MJ believable if we go down the Transformers route and have what that draft script had.

I wonder why it's so hard to have a decent love interest on screen? The MJ proposed for TASM2 sounded odd, and the Raimi love interests weren't that amazing. Even Gwen might not have been as great if it wasn't for the Chemistry between Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield.

Is 616 MJ really that hard to replicate on screen?
